My favorite zone was Icecrown. Theplace just felt epic and you felt like a part of the action leading to the eventual showdown with Arthas. The questlines were amazing from a lore perspective and you really felt like a part of the battle to reclaim the zone with the phasing. Definitely a great place overall. I just wish Twilight Highlands felt as epic!
The Barrens Because I played WoW since it was new and I loved the epic 200 vs 200 battles on my server was out there everydayRip: World PvP :(
Damn guys, bit harder to choose today. Well, stuck between Mulgore, Nagrand and Howling Fjord respectively. The former being my first zone I ever experienced, the rolling plains and the down-to-earth feel of it all really got me, I've always loved the tribal style of life, despite not managing it myself, and it was an instant favourite. Thunderbluff was just amazing to see for the first time, climbing the lift to the very top, and looking out over Mulgore was something else.Nagrand however, when I first saw this wonderful zone, also went straight into my favourites. Another basic zone, with hints of Mulgore to me, plains and giant beasts wandering it. The floating islands however, accompanied by amazing music and the skyline, really took the flag for me. I loved flying about here in The Burning Crusade, it felt peaceful and laid back. Finally, the Howling Fjord, my first zone to visit during the Wrath Beta years back. Travelling in on the boat was absolutely amazing, seeing bridges hang above you, a suspended flaming ship set as a warning, and the giant, vast cliff faces lining the river with who knows what on top of them... It was, to say, beautiful. Seeing Utgarde Keep, a menacing evil upon this land where the Vrykul King ruled, was still an awe-inspiring moment. Tirion Fordring's appearance in the Alliance base was an unexpected twist for me, and I loved the storyline that accompanied it. The Kalu'ak, fending off pirates, and in turn helping another set of pirates was fun, and it was a great place to be for myself. It was zones like these that made me love this game even more.Overall though, the latter wins out, purely because of its amazing storylines, plots, monsters and artwork. The Northern Lights were another fine touch by the team at Blizzard, and staring up into the sky looked great. Also, need I say it, The Trashbringer joke item in the beta which I obtained there.
I like more zones, but...Grizzly Hills. High trees, river surrounded by battling alliance and horde NPSc, fallen world tree, and lot more. For me, it has some personal charm, and i really like that zone. Each character I have above lvl 73 has done at least half of Grizly Hills quests because I really like that zone. And its really calm place - or at least when I lvl here. Drakuru chain is also interestingAnd troll quest "Chill out, mon" (Chill Out, Mon) - one of most funny quest names in my opinion
I really like Gilneas. When you're over there as Horde you can travel through the zone like it's a ghost town, with no NPCs around cluttering the place up. It gives you the chance to notice how wonderfully old-fashioned and kitschy the buildings are. They're wonderful and cozy, and do look like they came out of rural Britain over a century ago.Sometimes I just go over there to wander around and look at all the pretty buildings.
My favourite zone has to be Icecrown, because of the dark atmosphere.
My favorite zone would have to be Silverpine Forest. The redesigned quest line just has an epic feel to it for only being a 10-20 zone.
I like zangarmarsh, just thought it was a really relaxing place to quest. I music for this zone helped set the mood for sure. Plus the huge mushrooms were really cool.
Elwynn Forest for me. It's where I first waddled into in my WoW life and just loved the music in the area. It also has a crazy cat lady.
My favorite has been Nagrand. Once you hit the zone in Burning Crusade, it seemed almost real. The look of the entire zone reminded me of being outside the game.
By far, my favorite zone is Nagrand. I feel like I am a Big Game Hunter on the plains of the Serengeti, stalking wild beasties so I can stuff them and display their beautiful heads on my trophy wall.
My favorite zone is definitely Howling Fjord. The first time I went there was right after staying in the game intro to hear the entire theme song of the new expansion, which completely immersed me in the mood of the expansion.Right when I got out, I was both amazed by the giant cliffs that this area had, nicely detailed, broken ice paths in the sea, and the burning alliance boat that the Vrykul had destroyed. Then the boat starts going into the main lake and by God, it was even more impressive, the alliance port, the Vrykul village beyond it, and the cave which the transport boat also goes through were all breathtaking. The music as well was superb, arguably the best and most immersive in the game. The entire zone felt completely right, it was both beautiful, dangerous, and believable. Whenever I got there I tend to go on a ground mount so I can feel all the joy I had when I was leveling in that area. I also always thought that, if there was ever a place I wish I would live in, it would be the Fjord. For me its the most unique area in the game, and will always be.<3 Howling Fjord <3
