My favorite zone would have to be Borean Tundra, from the Hordes perspective. It is one of the introductory zones in Northrend and gives the player a great intro of what will be seen on the continent. You have the different parts of the zone - everything from the rocky area surround Warsong Hold, the snowy areas surrounding the Wailing Ziggurat, the geyser fields, Amberledge and finally Coldarra; you will more of each as you cross into other zones of the continent. Throw in the (now) legendary exchange between Saurfang and Garrosh and you have a zone that's fun, interesting and a strong part of lore.
My favorite zone would have to be Gilneas. I thought the Worgen quests were very well written and executed. The atmosphere was beautiful and the music is definitely one of my all time favorites from the game.
My favorite zone is definitely pre-cata Zul Gurub. While I never did get either of the mounts to drop, I still enjoyed popping in twice a week to farm the turtle polymorph book for mage friends and snag some baby raptors once they were implemented.
I love the new Thousand Needles, because of how they are completely submerged and contains a lot of stranglekelp beneath the water and a lot of sungrass on the cliffs. It would also probably be a really cool place to take the seahorse from the poseidus rare spawn into.
Well in my opinion i loved questing through Deepholm the enviorment was unique compared to all the other outside enviraments that were forest or wasteland type areas. Plus the whole story line about the Therazane was awesome. And to top it all off its miner galore in there!
I loved Teldrassil. It was my 2nd character after having given up my BC pally. A hunterard. Oh dear...The music told a tale of mystery and the creation sequence got you all fired up, ready to quest.I had logged in at 11:00pm my time (00:00 server time iirc), so it was quiet. It really felt amazing, kind of like I was in some sort of movie and I was the director of it.Then there's the barrow dens which tell my first group experience. I had met up with a priest who obviously was struggling so I did what I had to do. Invite. It was far easier as this priest was quite good at passing around heals. Along the way we found a warrior and asked the priest to stop so we could give him a hand (he was in mostly whites with 3 mobs on him >.<)Then another sub-section of Teldrassil I had fond memories of was Darnassus. The music made me think of something really, really old. Past perhaps the time of the elves themselves. The ancient was nearly 10 times my height. O.OIt was only then I realised that this was only the first 10 levels. This game must be massive. Oh boy...Now it all seems a bit more dull. My hunter is now abandoned on a previous realm and I am back on my pally. After having beat 2 of my enemies, Cho'gall and The Lich King, this article has made me look back at all the times where it wasn't so serious. It felt more like a game where I made the choices, where it wasn't so obvious where to go.My old hunter :)My pally now.
My favourite zone is Blasted Lands in Cataclysm, rescuing little baby Murlocs from the Naga to culling a demonic threat. Blasted Lands went from useless port to Outland to a fun and entertaining leveling zone and I can heartily recommend this zone for your leveling needs!
Dead wind pass Sure questing wise it isn't much to look at but Flying over the zone you get to look at Karazhan and the wonders it beholds.
Karazhan for me. I think that BLZ have to know that raid is not just about fancy bosses, different encounters, and fabulous loots. It's about environments and atmosphere, which embedded the feeling of playing with a raid, not any individual boss. BLZ REVAMP KARAZHAN PLZ
As much as I hated Vashj'ir it has to be one of my favorite zones because the scenery is breathtaking and overall it is an amazing zone despite it's faults.
The one i enjoyed th emost was Un'Goro Crater on my hunter while still on Vanilla. There's nothing better than going hunting for a Devilsaur! ^^
I'd have to say Uldum...great egypt style, with the desert-aosis contrast, the river granting a lot of life on the surroundings, it's just a great zone to be in.
My favorite zone would have to be a pretty close run between Uldum and Grizzly Hills.I love Uldum for the Egyptian style lore and buildings. Unearthing the zone with Harrison Jones, and of course who doesn't like Gnome Bowling? I feel Uldum was very well done, lore and graphics and fun.As for Grizzly Hills, it reminds me a lot of where I grew up when I was younger, and the music made me feel as if I was camping while doing quests.
Definitely a fan of Zangarmarsh. The whole area reminds me of Alice in Wonderland, scenery wise. Can't forget the fact it sort of looks the the U.S.
Kind of a difficult question as you have to choose between a number of factors that make a zone great. Best visuals? Best quests? Best experience that happened to have taken place in that particular zone? For overall experience I'm going with Arathi Basin. Arathi Basin
