I enjoyed The Barrens from pre Cata. The fact that there was an entire complex desert ecosystem. Couple that with the near-constant bombardment of alliance toons attacking the Crossroads, it added a wicked little flavor to the lore. A middleground of Horde towns being constantly attacked and nearly overrun (if the pesky NPCs didn't respawn) made the area have a nice amount of danger to a new player.

I really loved the Vashj'Ir, it was truly awesome from storytelling persepective and the underwater landscape was a real eye candy. Oh and the Submarine! I loved tha freaking gnomish submarine, I WANT one!
I would have to go with Uldum epic Indiana Jones like quest line , beautiful scenery really nice buildings and statues aswell. Something very peaceful about the whole place aswell overall just love it =D
I love Nagrand in the Outlands because after seeing so much desolation, destroyed and barren wastelands it was amazing to see such a lush and beautiful green zone. Nagrand is the type of place that roleplayers would take a girl on a picnic and she wouldn't complain, if she had a good enough video card to appreciate it that is.
Mulgore, hands down my most favored zone. I started the game here and it was just so peaceful and pristine, it was a perfect place for me and players like me to start. Few people around, and I really felt the sense of great adventure the game had to offer. Every time I go there, even post cataclysm, I get nostalgic and remember how bad I was at the game then.
Uldum, i adore the egyptian theme and the chain quests about Docta Jonez. :D
My favorite zone is Stranglethorn Vale before Cataclysm ofc becouse there is always good old pvp there, atleast it was :(.
Karazhan.Without a doubt one of the most fun times I've had in WoW. Home to a great part of the Warcraft lore, for good or ill, but the zone stands out as superb. Especially during the Wrath warmup events when Tenris Mirkblood was a temporary resident handing out Arcanite Ripper. Oh the days...~A. Joe
My favorite zone of all time would have to be Un'goro Crater. The look of the zone is so prehistoric and so full of vegetation and life, plus everything is in a larger scale too. The volcanic activity is semi-realistic and the evidence of the whole world of Azeroth being created by a higher source (the Titans) was amazing. Also thinking about it, the area of Sholazar Basin is very similar to how Un'goro Crater looks because of this. With this in mind, and how the quest lines show the proof, it is certain that this world, although being virtually created, is not born but created.
Up until Cataclysm, Nagrand was my favourite zone ingame. It was always so peaceful (except for some of the Halaa-battles ^^), and the sky was beautiful. But now my favourite zone is Uldum. I have always liked the old egyptian culture, and I'm really interested in the titan-lore in WoW, so Uldum is like the prefect zone for me :D
My favorite zone would have to be thousand needles. I love the floating barge and more importantly, the dead Whale shark just floating in the water. The first time I saw it, I about crapped myself because it wasn't something I thought i would see in such a low level. Also it helps you understand just how much the world changed the day Deathwing came.
