That would have to be Westfall... It brings back so many memories, such as The Deadmines, the Goretusk Liver Pie quest, which took ages back in the day!I just overall think it's an awesome zone, every single one of my characters has been there :)
Its Duskwood, and will always be Duskwood, it has a great storyline, atmosphere is just right, I remember my first time swimming over from Elwynn and as the mist descended I swam back lol. Who can forget Stitches, Mor Ladim and Morbent Fel! I died so many times :)
I've been asked this many times and my answer always remains the same... NagrandNagrand has for several years now has been my favorite zone. I love the artwork, the sky is simply incredible and the general feel of the zone is amazing. I continuously find myself flying out to secluded sections of the zone to visit the floating rocks scattered throughout the zone. Scouting out possible locations for a home if Blizzard ever returned to the idea of player housing. The fawn and fauna of Nagrand were also enjoyable, from the mighty Clefthoof to the peaceful Talbuk Thorngrazer I always felt as if the zone was a living, breathing atmosphere. The herd of Wild Elekk roaming near Oshu'Gun with their matriarch Tusker was also quite enjoyable. As for the quest they are simply amazing in most aspects, from continuing the Hemet Nesingwary hunting trek story arc that started in Stranglethorn Vale during vanilla to exploring Thrall's genealogy and reconnecting the Orcs of Azeroth to their Mag'har brethren beyond the Dark Portal and vice-versa. I also enjoyed helping the Demon Hunter Altruis the Sufferer with his fight against the Burning Legion and his former master Illidan Stormrage.Among those Nagrand offered some of my most favorite world PVP moments with the contested city of Halaa in the epicenter of the zone. This comes in sharp comparison to that of Wrath of the Lick King and Cataclysm which have a dedicated zone for PVP that doesn't feel like "world" PVP. The bombing runs were a unique feature to the game before the introduction of vehicles in Wrath of the Lich King.In conclusion, Nagrand is a beautiful zone with a lot of lore and fun quest that I strongly recommend to any player who has never experienced it in all it's glory. Blizzard mentioned upgrading Outland to match the current timeline sometime in the future, I hope they treat this zone with the passion they did during Burning Crusade but only time will tell. It still remains my favorite zone in all of World of Warcraft and probably shall stay that for a long time coming.*Edit - Clearity, Spelling
Azshara post-cata may be inventive and fun, Scholazar Basin may have been a great forest with plain-and-simple hunting quests and the warring Oracles and Frenzyheart, and Silithus may have the gong that started a war stalled over a thousand years, but only one zone made WoW truly epic for me...Hellfire Peninsula.I was leveling my first character, my mage, during early BC. By the time I reached level 50 or so, I was really starting to get bored with WoW - after all, I have plenty of single player games that are challenging, have more interesting stories and changing plots. I was told things get better, so I kept at it, gradually hating the game more as I got closer and closer to Burning Crusade level (I should note that I didn't so much as take a port to Shattrath - I spoiled nothing for myself). When I finally reached that almighty level, I made a big deal of it in guild chat that I was about to walk through the Dark Portal, I dismounted, walked into the portal, and after a cool loading screen...I find myself on a gigantic stair, overlooking a blasted wasteland of red earth, forces of the Alliance and Horde fighting tooth and nail to hold back and slay waves of demons, and leading them is a massive hulk of a demon - I didn't know what to call it (Pit Lord), but it was absolutely huge! The absolute scale of what I had just walked into was breathtaking. Everything I had seen until this point was, well, everything until this was dwarfed. I couldn't help but gush into guild chat with what I was seeing - needless to say, I was no longer bored with WoW. After that, I would become impressed by how much better the questing had become, the new mechanics quests could use, the new enemy types - I could go on, but I think you get the idea. Hellfire, while it isn't too visually impressive anymore, even compared to Outland zones, there's that sense of nostalgia over when Warcraft became a Crusade.
The best zone there is is Dun Morogh (Dun Morogh) because it makes me feel like home (Luleå, Sweden). Lots and lots of snow, bears and wolfs to kill. Also something funny for us Star Wars fans: the Death Star (Death Star) :)
Moonglade == Best.Simple reason, for any druids, we know it was OUR hangout spot, we can get there from anywhere, at anytime. Alliance and Horde druid does not kill grief each other (normally)Mailbox? checked. Trainer? checked. Demigods? checked. Repair and Vendors? checked. Free flight back to major city? checked. And who can forget day and night undisturbed fishing?Best of all, Furblogs help keep the zone free of most people =)Druid since Beta and Moonglade will always be home, regardless of how the "major city hub" changes.
Something about the tranquility found by Menethil definitely makes the Wetlands my favorite zone. Looking out over the water with a view of the foothills and that light fog... It's purdy.
Nagrand is the only redeeming thing about the Outlands!
It would definitely be Tirisfal Glades. With the cozy and quiet scenery in addition to that scary sound track when you die always gives me a good flashback of the leveling of my very first WoW character.
my favorite zone has to be hellfire peninsula entering through the dark portal into a sky full of stars and contrasted by a land filled with an endless sea of demons it was a time of wonderment and the first time i bothered to really pvp and started doing group quests and making a lot of my friends that supported me though out BC and beyond
I would have to say the zone I love the most. Would have to be winterspring. I love the frost, ice, snow... the everything that makes the zone. I enjoyed questing there all over. Dealing with the residents. I would go there and just sit for hours. always felt so peaceful.
My favorite zone would have to be Vashj'ir. the main reasons being the lore, the story line throughout the zones, and most of all, the naga architect. to top all this off, questing and combat that isn't only restricted to staying on the ground feels refreshing while leveling.
