That would be Silithus ! I love this zone - I mean a huge desert zone with all kind of creatures, all the qiraji stuff and the events in there were awesome.Best zone blizz created EVAR.
Karazhan, hands down. Weird interesting encounters and gigantic in scope. It even had a super hard optional boss before super hard optional bosses were the things to include in a raid. Its like Ulduar except it has a Chess boss and an Opera encounter. I like to 2 or 3 man the place now and I always hope the opera encounter is litte red riding hood just to watch people die when they don't kite him. Chess boss may be my favorite encounter ever just for the fact that in the middle of raiding you could find yourself playing chess (albeit an imitation of the game rather than the actual game) to win loot. It was just such a beautiful instance and the quirks make me love it all the more.
My favorite zone will have to be Horde side of Hillsbrad Foothills. It has to due a lot with the quests and how much story and feelings you get through them. The beginning quest where you have to be a quest giver makes me laugh every time, and the end with the death of that warrior/death knight nearly makes me cry. It is really an amazing and well worked zone.
I like the old STV. Liked the nesingwary quests and the whole scenery of the zone :)
The old mount hyjal, which you had to hack to get into. I know this breaks wowhead rules slightly, but this zone had a few beautiful sights.
Hands down the best zone is Hillsbrad, pre shattering. It was all one zone but with the snowy landscape of the ruins of alterac in the north, durnhold keep and dun garok to the east, and the farm land to the west it almost felt like three different and distinct zones. And the PvP was unreal. My three friends and I once starting camping alliance and before you knew it raid groups were formed and three days later (with the battle still going strong) there were literally thousands of skeletons strewn all the way from the yeti cave in hillsbrad all the way to refugee point in arathi. nothing ever happened any where near that level of awesomeness on my server (yay garithos) ever again, but that event i'll remember till i die.
OH MAI GAWD! =) Who didn't like the Vanilla WoW Goldshire! There was RP going on, on that realm in whether it was a Normal or PvP server. Back in the good old days when WoW was in beta, Goldshire was THE PLACE to be! ;)
Nagrand all the way. Yes i got stomped by Durn countless times. But it was a hunters paradise!
storm peaks has to be my favorite. i love all the titan buildings and the iron dwarves.
My favorite zone is wetlands. So many memories there from being a horde and ganking lowbie alliance kids and the battles that would take place when they got some backup
Favorite zone? Hrmm.. I would have to go with Hyjal. So much lore behind that zone, it was the one I was looking forward to the most before Cata... and it just looks SO awesome! What else can I say? It delivered on my expectations!
It has to be Howling Fjord. With its Nordic theme and beautiful music that fits like a glove, i sometimes enter the zone just for relaxation. I watch the shoveltusk stags, the waterfall, and just let the music penetrate my brain.Worse thing is, that i choose that over actually going out and watch it irl considering i'm Norwegian.
