I'm confused. Has blizzard not swapped to Microsoft Azure servers since being acquired by Microsoft? This shouldn't be a long maintenance for a semi patch let alone an 8 hour wait. I'm not even mad I'm actually generally concerned about these long delays in 2024 with a .5 patch. How is this still happening 20 years later?...

Could be worse, like FFXIV going down for 24 hours for each patch / expansion. For example there is an irrelevant patch this week in XIV and the game is down for 24 hours.Be happy that Blizzard isn't technology illiterate like Square-Enix
Im guessing it's the whole implementation of dragonriding in the non-Dragon Isles areas that will be causing the long delay. At least they're being honest and saying to not expect to play til the evening time.
I WILL forget and it WILL disappoint me. Oh well...
