AoE changes sounds really good, they should do that earlier. It will significantly impact to the mythic keys setups and make them more diverse. No AP, no traits - I don’t know, there will be no additional motivation to progress your character. I don’t understand why people didn’t like AP system, what’s wrong with that? It gives you really really small boost, it doesn’t affect balance at all. The main thing is it also gives you feeling of satisfaction each time you hit new level which is crucial part of MMORPGShame
"However, if all else fails, they can give up."It's like a competition for them.
Anyone looking for the TLDR:Their vision is great, the idea that feedback is ignored is spot on, they just had a great excuse for it, and of course, keep giving them feedback that they will also probably ignore...at least until the numbers are so bad they can't ignore it anymore. Also, be sure and buy shadowlands, because the numbers for wow aren't that great, and they finally replace the dev team, and the customers might finally get a dev team that makes a quality product and listens to feedback rather than a single minded focus on the lead's "vision."
Please no tier bonuses. I don't want to be forced to raid to be able to compete in mythic plus groups. If bonuses exist in raid and apply outside of raid, anyone without said tier bonus will get turbo trash. That's bad. People should be able to do and progress in the content they enjoy without being pigeon-holed into content they don't like. Imagine if you had to do pet battles to get gear that made you competitive in raid. Just as silly to have to raid to do m+,which is an entirely separate content path. If tier returns, then add separate dungeon tier and keep them separate, providing bonuses unique to the content they came from.
Just once I'd like an interviewer to ask him the question that I've been wondering about for years which is why dual-wielders are constantly treated like second-class players by needing double the weapon drops of 2H users and why 19% of their auto-attacks have to miss when their weapon damage could've been reduced and the miss chance removed years ago. Just have 2 weapons drop for dual-wielders every time they get a weapon drop. It's so simple.
Great interwiew!I like both new Ideas, philosophies and just the amount of communication Blizz tries to put in. Also always great to hear it from Ion, alwys enjoyed his perspectives that can shed new light on some "feels bad" changes like AoE cap
Yes!, give us a Stat squish which you PROMISED us in the Leveling Section in this interview!.https://www.mmo-champion.com/content/8832-BlizzCon-2019-Developer-Interview
well i had some newfound enthusiasm for Shadowlands after the BfA fiasco made me want to quit but Ion's interview quickly killed the buzz.GCD is still a big issue, specs still feel slow and clunky. I like a fast and furious playstyle, Frost dk and fury warrior are not what they used to be, only DH havoc is still fun to play for me.AOE capping seems like the fun in cheesing mobs with eyebeam is gone too but most of all means, again, we're slowing gameplay for both competitive play and casual old content mog and mount runs. Bad QoL.And what about loot? It seems they plan to have less loot drop form raid so people will be more excited when they finally get some. Moreover with forging now gone there is really no interest in repeating content especially when you hit a plateau with no chance to get better gear for example, i'm in a small guild and often there's not enough people to raid so heoric is not always an option and since my core group is also MIA for various reasons i haven't been pushing any M+ except low keys in like a year. Forging was an alternative to pugs which i will avoid at all cost.despite the claims they never seem to listen to feedback.
So they get rid of WF/TF but leave ''Still plan on Avoidance.'' the most useless thing? And the 'Loot will be Loot' thing, I would be more excited if not for the Pugs being terrible and being literally Ilvl @#$%^s...
Blizz should not read more into the "The biggest reminder is to try to return to the social roots of World of Warcraft" than there actually is. At the end of the day, what the vast majority of players actually care about is not being stuck unable to do things in WoW because they can't find others to do it with. Anyone doubting that is ignorant of how and why WoW evolved in the first place, and gaming at large. You see this same issue across virtually the entire gaming space.Giving me incentive to do things with others is fine. Even welcome. Penalizing me for not doing things with others, or more importantly, making it impossible to do something with out others is where you'll find you lose people.
