God people are seriously overestimating the money they put into the heirlooms. I have the all except the weird rings and stuff (THESE are the ones poeple should talk about, the really hard ones)I always scraped just by and still could afford all of the heirlooms without much effort.Good riddance. Now you can maybe actually wear gear while leveling without making it waaaaay to long. Now it is shorter by a longshot. Be glad get over it. Most people with all maxed out heirlooms have all chars on max level anyway allready.
This is still idiotic change.
Guys here's some "quick math" on the "6 piece heirloom bonus" (it's any 6 pieces except trinket and weapon, so the usual helm+shoulders+chest+cloak+pants plus the necklace for example)."60% reduction in rested XP consumed" means you will only consume 40% of rested XP when killing mobs with the rested bonus active.100% / 40% = 2.5In other words, rested XP will be worth x2.5 more.Which in turn means the current "1.5 levels" cap of rested XP will be worth (1.5 x 2.5) = 3.75 levels. So the bonus of rested XP instead of 100% will be equivalent to 250% (not instantly, but until you deplete your rested XP), for a total of 350% "effective XP" compared to not having any bonuses. So, in Shadowlands if your characters rests for 10 days (the rested cap is 150% of a level and you get 5% every 8 hours) you will get "3.75" levels worth of rested XP instead of the current 1.5 levels
To make this useful, it's probably a good idea to create several initial level 1 toons and park them in an inn for when I'm ready to level alts.
I can dig this.
Hmm I'd be fine with the changes if there was a way to give rested xp outside of cities/inns for long periods of time (if I am remembering that correctly), or give rested xp at an accelerated rate... say have the 6 piece set bonus be "Rested xp now generates anywhere outside of combat".
Oh neat! I think I can get behind this. It's acting like tier sets or sets from Diablo. I like it!
Give me movement speed or something instead please.
Fair enough. More power means faster leveling. I wasn't expecting reduced exp consumption which is a cherry on the top
The Rested XP was the ideal replacement, but I think 60% is too low and needs to be 100% as well as speed up the amount of Rested XP you gain logged out in an Inn.Set 3 = Useless, most people just use food and it just seems like a waste of time. I think it needs to be something else. Maybe Increase the Rested XP Cap.Set 4 = Is also useless. Most people are going to level up with a quest or at the end of a dungeon. Maybe it can be a permanent stat boost instead since most heirlooms have useless stats and the only real reason people used was for the XP.With those two, plus the Rest XP to 100%, I think it would be a lot better and worth the time and money it takes.
I love the idea of set bonuses for heirlooms. Just please give us a full head to toe heirloom armor set slap some cool animation on full sets and give us the option to mix match bonuses. For the multiple armor slot types we have even it they have to take away the secondary stats, bump the stamina and main stat from it add some cool variant dps heal and defense bonus for 2/4/6 set & of course giving the full set bonuses a more fun flavors.Rings and trinkets are also quite dull and need some updating and should also have some sort of set bonuses added to them mechagon rings are good example that could be combined with them to make more fun choices while leveling.I dont really mind so much after pouring gold into buying heirlooms and upgrading them that they are removing the exp bonus but it saddens me that this is the best they could come up with as a compromise. They could get so much more creative with the set bonuses but instead people will think I poured my gold into this exp gear and they turned it into this junk ?fingers crossed feedback carries on to making them much more fun items to level with.
I feel this doesn't make up for the probably close to 700k or more I put into Hierlooms, during a level up you already get full hp I don't see the need to do aoe holy damage. I am also gonna level max in most cases in 1 sitting so the reduction in bonus lost EXP is only good for people who don't play that often and shelve the character for 2 days or more. I would like the gold I used in all my heirlooms returned and upgrades to the heirlooms if this is how it is. I want to feel like the money I invested was worth it when I had 120 levels to go through it was worth it, now with 1-60 with someone putting in effort you can level 1-2 to max in a day. TLDR changes not making up for the amount spent into upgrading these hierlooms.
What they need is a feature for each expansion that allows you to do all of the worthwhile quests that drive the main story and then culminates in completing the end raid (or a shortened scenario version of the raid).Completing the first whatever% of an expansion to get to Level 50 doesn't tell the WHOLE story to players that have never played the game or that expansion.Missed opportunity that I hope they polish up in the future, but it's a start for sure!
Who needs rested XP when you're leveling super fast and that 4 piece buff should last an hour, 4 minutes is nothing. They should offer refunds for those that want it as well.
