They needed to get Shadowlands working before they worry too much about legacy raids being done solo. As in past expansions, they will adjust it when they have time. A lot of work went into getting Shadowlands ready and it already had to be delayed.
It's the scaling, not the squish. Was exactly the same at release of BFA, every level you got the weaker your character got.Eso been using this system for years and was the reason I quit, no sense of accomplishment as you "grow weaker" as you progress.
I've been able to easily solo multiple Mythic (yes Mythic, this is not mistake) bosses in Antorus (Garothi Worldbreaker, Felhounds of Sargeras, Aggramar, Argus the Unmaker) on my BM hunter at level 120.After 9.0 prepatch released I can only kill Garothi Worldbreaker at level 50 (which is equivalent of lvl 120).And problem is not DPS (it's about the same as before), but either bosses now deal much more damage to player or player survivability has been nerfed to the ground.Same issue was present on beta at level 60 where you were even worse than at level 50...I've reported this multiple times on beta and live and blizzard did absolutely nothing to fix this mess. They just don't care.
This is yet another indication of a trend at Blizzard to nickle and dime /played time from subscribers. If something adds more /played (Friction in Ion's terminology) ignore it as long as possible unless there is a loud community outrage about it. If something is discovered to speed things up, nerf it as soon as possible to maintain longer Engagement periods from the players. It all started when they stealthily set world mobs to scale with item level, They would have not mentioned it if it wasn't for the diligence of the player base. Now, world bosses and elites that were easily soloable with decently geared characters without even a single corrupted item are hitting like trucks and take too long to down. Let's not pretend that they don't do internal testing and even play the game and know very well when they are deflating player progression to pretty up their number for corporate meetings. The sad thing is that WoW is a vast game with it's current and old content, and slowing the players down with underhanded friction simply frustrates players for short term gains. There is always content to be found with rewards not tied to player power like cosmetics mounts etc. that even if they let people have fun overpowering dated content, they will still fill their engagement quotas for their Activation overlords board meetings.TL;DR Blizzard is deliberately slowing players down through undocumented changes to gouge more engagement numbers and will not acknowledge such changes unless there is a community outcry.
Yeah, I've been making weekly bug reports to Blizzard for at least a month and a half about how Goroth on Mythic was just destroying my characters at level 60. Last week I managed to finally down him on my Demon Hunter with the right legendary / talent combination, but it still is way harder than it would need to be two expansions later. I hope Blizzard can spare an hour to fix this and implement proper legacy scaling to them. There are quite a few good looking class sets in Legion to get from mythic dungeons.
Legacy mode was not enabled in pre patch or else we would have been stomping all over all legion content. In PTR as I recall the content was harder then live. I think it is likely they added a damage aura to make the content closer to what it was before pre patch. I don't know why they choose to with hold legacy mode and only give us legacy loot until the next expansion drops. It would have been nice to have something to actually spend some time on in pre patch for those of us who have been waiting to farm these raids until they are on shots.
Another example why scaling really sucks in these kind of things. Same as in BfA, I level from 110 to 120 and I actually got weaker. Shadowlands seems to repeat this stupidity, max levels are weaker than lv 50s. Perhaps I'll just not level up this expansion
Ok Guys, Girls and everything in between. DONT PANIC!We all have been here before with multiple Stats Squishes and now our first Levelsquish. Things are rough with this kind of things, its atleast 3 Days before anybody will do old Content with a 60 and its WEEKS before most of you will do it, so this whole Situation has Months to resolve itself. Its the same Problem as with the Covenants, ppl go grazy what the best Covenant will be and its grazy. The "Best" Covenant is the Covenant that you enjoy the most. "Start thinking what your Character would want and not what you as a Player want" - My Brother about choosing "the best Class"
with all those layoff at Blizard, was expected to have some buggies part
For everyone who doesn't understand scaling: Are you that blind to the past?. Every expansion is a "reset" of power, as further content releases within an expansion push the bar higher. This has been going on in WoW for 14 years now. We got weaker as we leveled from Naxx-geared 60s to Heroic Blue 70s. And it repeated EVERY EXPANSION. How is this new to so many of you?The geared comparison is bad, without question.ilevel 130 is Mythic Ny'alotha with Essences and Azerite Traitsvsilevel 190 blue Honor PvP gear with no mention of even having full Soulbind and Conduit unlocksSo, it's not even comparing equivalent borrowed power, let alone equivalent ilevel of gear. However, it is not entirely unlikely that the Legacy Raid aura hasn't been tagged yet for being Level 51+. It used to require 11 levels over the old content to trigger, but given that Legion's content is capped at 45 now, I would say the Legacy Aura should be 6 levels over the past expansion content now (hence needing 51, and not 50). Does it suck that we can't farm it in our sleep right away? Yes. Has this ever changed in principle since it was introduced at the end of Mists of Pandaria (at the last ilevel squish)? Nope, not once.As to the scaling of present content, post-squish... that one does indeed suck. Definitely noticed a notable hit to survival more than anything. 8.0 Rare Elites are definitely a chore now, when before only the 8.2 and 8.3 ones were a risk factor, as a melee DPS. We are also what... 37.5 hours away from part of this not mattering anymore? For anyone saying "Oh, guess I won't level, I'll be stronger then" like they are some big-brain thinker. You think you get to do that? Think again. All endgame in Shadowlands is locked behind both being 60, and having completed the entire main story campaign questline at least once per account.Long-term, all of us are keeping our Heart, Cloak, and best Azerite Armor pieces, for doing any pre-Shadowlands content. They offer so much power, it is crazy to NOT have them. Even moreso on Timewalking weeks. The fact you can do Shadowlands, Battle for Azeroth, and Legion Mission Tables from the app now (Shadowlands isn't viewable yet), makes it even easier to passively farm Azerite Power via the table without ever going back to your table (or, use the handy ring for War Commendations).
Man i really hope they'll fix this either on Launch or shortly after :/ but i guess i won't get my hopes up
hehe... leave it to blizzard to give you the reverse-leveling experience... sorry, had to do that, but srsly tho: prolly be fixed very soon, so just enjoy shadowlands-content for a few days please
This happens every expansion, and then blizzard scales it back after the important things are handled. Cant really blame them for overlooking something like this, when they had to delay the launch to balance Shadowlands content. old content does, and should come second:)
They just gotta up the damage modifier for outleveled content a bit. Or throw in a damage increase buff like in some instances. Fix is easy, get on it blizz.
