Some of these abilities are awful or simply dont work depending on the content you’re doing. People play multiple forms of endgame content and multiple specs of the same class. We know from experience that blizzard isnt going to balance it, and even if they could, the ability that i think is coolest might not even be from the covenant that i like the most aesthetically. Add to that the weekly cooldown for swapping conduits, and I can’t even experiment with builds within my own covenant. This system is an absolute joke and I don’t get people defending decisions that limit their ability to just PLAY the game how they want. We have a proven track record of these artificial barriers not being fun and not working. Just stop.
seems fine to me
Works for me

I don't know guys. And what if there is a really difficult trash pack in my mythic+8 run where I can do the first 2 mobs only as Night Fae, and the second 2 only as Venthyr? Then what? Blizzard not allowing me to change covenant mid-fight?
sounds like a good compromise. It takes some work to switch and people can do it midweek if that is how they want to play but they cannot switch constantly. great job blizzard!
This is disappointing news. This goes against the initial design of permanent choice. On the same week, you are able to pick your bis covenant for at least two designated activities. Covenant A for first half of the week, covenant B for second half, then B first half, A second half, and so on. This is too easy to not become the meta.At the very least, the reset should happen automatically as suggested to have one covenant for the whole week. I assumed it would take longer when it said two weeks. Maybe there will be diminishing returns that make this not viable. It makes sense to have a long term option to switch in prevision of patch changes. I hoped they would go for a charge system instead, meaning having a free switch every patch or abilities revamp/tuning, or when the situation warrants it.
You all complaining about this is absolutely insane. What's next? Being able to switch your class and race when you are off combat just because it is "so unfaaaaaaiiirrr" for mages to have a blink when no other class has one? When will this ridiculous "I must have EVERYTHING possible otherwise I'm trash and the company is at fault for this"?It is a design feature, just as much as having different classes and races that do different things is also a design feature. Stop trying to make the game a gray blob just because you are afraid you'll not be accepted into one or two m+ groups. You have a choice to make, that choice matters. Weigh the pros and cons of your choice and go with it. Did you regret your choice? Sure, go ahead and swap covenants, there is a system in place for it, but complaining that you can't swap your meaningful choice on a whim because you want to deal an extra 0.32% damage on that specific boss is frankly pure lunacy.
I think you should have to relearn absolutely everything again from switching including rebuying mounts ect, no one commits to anything nowadays
Each time you join the SAME convenant it should be hard and hard to do the quest, for example.First time, each Dungeon boss give 50% of the BarSecond time, each Dungeon boss give 25% of the BarThird time, each Dungeon boss give 10% of the BarFourth time, each Dungeon boss give 5% of the BarFifth time, each Dungeon boss give 2% of the Bar and would cap at this rate for any further come back.
No thanks. Glad I waited to buy SL, doubly happy that it looks like a boring xpac anyway and I won't be missing out on anything fun. Thanks for the info Wowhead, really appreciate these posts!
I have zero problems with this system EXCEPT FOR ONE.Why are cosmetics (pets, mounts, transmogs) locked to it as well?Who would possibly enjoy swapping a week or two to get the appearance they already own? Not to mention that I have to choose between cosmetics/lore and power...It would be fine if you retained cosmetics (in that case, only lore and power remain), but this one makes me sad. However, as the old joke says... Mouse cries, mouse pricks, but continues eating the cactus.
Still a RPG, so much complaining, i wonder what you will do in reallife, when someone gets the last cookie? Instantly die? Do a Karen roundhousekick? *sigh* humans ...
Itacolomi, great idea.... make it harder and harder, just like real life it's harder and harder to regain trust you lost!Maybe Blizz should just do away with Classes, Talents, weapon restrictions, Racials and even do away with Races for crying out loud,Just let the players choice what Race, Class, Spec, Talents, Abilites and everything they want whenever they want so they can kill this trash pack, then swithch, kill that trash pack, switch, kill a boss,..... then around and around it goes! This is just a micoscope of the problems of our society today, everyone wants everything they want when they want it. They don't understand hard choices and how to live with them.Removed
