Hm these changes aren't great...As a fairly casual player, I kinda like how havoc's various abilities aren't directly tied to each other. Like it's not frost mage, where each frostbolt gives an icicle and you get 5 of those for a glacial strike which you chain with x and y etc etc and the spell tooltips tell you what order to push the buttons in, nor is it udk where you're managing giving/using festering wounds. Havoc is hit buttons fast, move fast, and work around each individual abilities quirks fast. To me that's kinda what it is, to have baseline random procs or abilities you'd only ever use in a combo would feel... odd for havoc? To be clear, I'm not saying there shouldn't be improvements, there are many things that could be expanded upon and a bunch of directions that could've been taken, but I'm okay with what the core idea is.But..... going into SL looks like we're gonna be losing the hit buttons fast, which I guess would always happen with less haste at the beginning of an expac but is gonna be worse and no haste is just grim with this spec, and the most impactful ability quirk is essentially gone. I thought that with all the eye beam and haste effects from azerite armour they'd have tried integrating some of that into baseline, but I guess not :c
I recognize the issues the spec has baseline and agree, but what if the designer's goal, come conduits, is to play around high uptime Meta? We have to understand that borrowed powers are here to come, unfortunately, and demand good ones.I'm still waiting for conduits. Furious Gaze should be baseline, however, hear me out; they made a core change to "Cycle of Hatred" so that it reduces the cooldown of Eye Beam by 3s when Chaos Strike refunds fury (20% chance). Now, when you're inside Meta, your Death Dance still has the 100% dodge. All we need is a legendary/conduit to increase that refund chance or something to create synergy with extending Meta in some way such that you can Eye Beam towards the end, ensuring very high uptime. However, this creates an extremely bad feel: you *want* to wait for Eye Beam in order to get access to the 100% dodge, which, let's face it, you'll never do. If your job is output, then there's no reason to waste 2-3 x 3-4 seconds reductions on your next Eye Beam. You press it when it's ready.I see no way out. Revert Demonic changes and add some way for the spec to extend Meta by doing well in their rotation. If they added an extra to Cycle of Hatred or a conduit and we solved the equation: we somewhat rely on haste to reach a point where Meta uptime is very high if you play well. This ensures that if you stay on your target, you can maintain your buffs and it creates a lot of opportunity for selfish play with blur/versatility: stay in, extend your stuff, but take damage. You're also helped by Fel Rush if you ever have to move, but don't expect to maintain stuff. In reality, if they created this, we'd want haste/vers and then introduce something to also scale with crit (e.g., "Your critical strikes pierce the veil, stealing power from the Nether, granting you 5 Fury") such that you can itemize properly and we're all set. There'll be *some* times when it'll feel bad since we can't be 100% in Meta.
Good :) Finally Havoc's defensives have been brought to the same level of most of other dps specs. His AoE and ST is also too high for the spec that plays the same build for both scenarios.
Why bother posting on this topic if your entire post is just going to be "good they deserved it"? You're adding nothing to the conversation and just acting like children.
This is one of those classes where "make X talent baseline" actually makes sense. First Blood should be a part of the ability. Whatever else is on the row is going to be used rarely, if at all, simply due to its power, and how it adds a short CD ability into our regular rotation that would we would use during our major CD. Yes, it blurs the lines between our AoE and ST rotations, but so does Eye Beam.
Really not happy with all these nerfs. It feels like way too much.Also... what. I've literally never seen anybody take Netherwalk. Confused on how the other two talents are "never taken".
Reading a DH complain about the nerfs is like watching a Billionaire complaining that the Dow Jones just dropped 1000 points and they may not be able to afford that 3rd mansion in the Hamptons anymore. Meanwhile my WW Monk working 3 jobs to make 30k a year is sitting here trying to shine some shoes for that raid spot.
Reading this comment section has made me realize one thing.Demon Hunters won't be happy till they have 100% Metamorphasis uptime.
Gotta see the final numbers and the conduits, but to me this seems fine. On par with other hybrid classes. I don't think it'll detract from my enjoyment of the class. I still get to double jump, glide, laser eyes, and metamorph. :D
Two things:Why do you say The Hunt increases Demon's bite damage, and thus is weak? It doesn't, it increases fury generation of demon's bite.Second thing: Why do you say that Insatiable Hunger is not competitive at all? It's the only talent in the row which increase actual dps, and competiting with the immo aura generation, you need to do around 8 demon's bite per 20 GCD to get even in fury generation. It doesn't feel that bad.
Where were you havoc DHs whenever this spec was being designed back in Legion? only beginning to complain now that you realize your spec is getting nerfed to be put on even ground with other classes in terms of overall kit. That being said, I do realize that the spec will feel clunky with these nerfs but then again, you guys are certainly not in dire need of change compared to shadow priests or WW monks (considering that your kit is mostly gonna play the same with borrowed power a few months into the expansion).
