I think the first game I played was Bubble Bobble or something like that, on an old Commodore 64. Mmm, good times.
i started with rock n roll racing =] only there wasnt blizzard yet but silicon synapse
Started off with Diable 2, moved onto Warcraft 3 and now hooked on WoW. Blizzard makes some awesome games :D
The first Blizzard game I got my hands on was Diablo... and once Blizz had me by the throat, they never let go. I'm not complaining.
Star craft was my very first blizzard game, only later did I find out they also made Warcraft as well ^^; Most of my games before SC where console related (Mortal Combat, Super Mario Bros, Zelda, Dead or alive, Final fantasy and some Chrono trigger in there too) SC was my very first PC game really (mixed in with some Heros of might and magic and Neverwinter nights)
I first got into gaming with Legend of Zelda on NES... played it once at a friends house, and I was hooked. I then played every zelda game from then on to Majora's mask, but I didn't much like how that one was made, so I quit that series and moved on to other stuff. I also played alot of Secret of mana, Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, and Secret of Evermore. The game that got me into PC gaming though, was Mechwarrior 2: Netmech. I spent HOURS a day blowing peeps up on there.. Played the MW series up untill MW4: Mercs, then they stoped making MW games and came out with Mech Assault.. Honestly didn't care much for that game or its sequel, MA2: Lone wolf, but I played them for awhile anyways. and THEN there was Halo. Played Halo and Halo two Far more then I should have.. and got excessively good at Halo2 on live.. and then Halo 3.. But then all the little kiddies got into Halo 3, and the sheer number of squeakers and whinners on there saddly drove me away.. :'(I think I got into Grand Theft Auto game's after that.. had played GTA 3 a little before then but was never terribly interested. But I got into VC and it was A Lot better, so started on it. then played a little SA for awhile.I honestly have no clue what my first blizz game was.. probably WC1.. I played alot of it and WC II and III when they came out.. but never really got into warcraft untill WoW came out. Been playing mostly WoW ever since. Still play alot of other games though.. mostly GTA and Halo. :P
I had a genesis, gameboy, gamegear, then went to PS2 then Xbox, then Xbox360, then to the PS3 and now mostly my Computer.
Hmm, I guess i'm considered one of those people that OP was talking about.. yes, one of the main reasons that I really got interested in gaming was because of FF7. Before then, I was only into the fighting genre, (which I still am thanks to SFIV and the annual EVO tournament), and FF7 exposed me to RPGs. From then on, I just continuous played different RPGs that were available on consoles. Until FFXI which really got me interested in MMORPGs. After awhile, FFXI got boring for me, and the mechanics of the game were getting annoying. Then I found out that my co-workers and a few of my friends were playing WoW. At first, I thought to myself, here we go again... begin skeptical from my experience with FFXI... but I saw how different it is. And now, I've been playing for about 2 years now... and still going strong. However, when WarHammer came out... I thought about trying that out as well... as it turns out.... it was a major mistake as I found out from friends who tried it... the game is so out of balance... its ridiculous.... so we're all back on WoW. ^_^
As a kid, back in the 70's, games were something I either programmed myself or typed in from Byte Magazine. My dad was a tech geek and bought one of the very first Commodore Pet's and I grew up hacking away on that. Hacking is ol' school slang for programming, despite everyone using the word for something else these days..
I started with the original Warcraft, back in the day, and it was actually one of the first games that really got me into, well, gaming. It's been a slippery slope every since.
