Where's the sub two-minute Spellwarding coming from? What modifies it besides Improved Blessing of Protection and Uther's Counsel? Since those two together don't bring it down enough to meet the claim.
What frustrates me the most as a Prot Paladin is when pets, minions, and other stuff taunts mobs away from me after I have already taunted. What's the point of being a tank if you have to repetitively taunt bosses and mobs? There is a lot of unnecessary junk spells that come with Prot Paladins. And as always; we Prots have had to adjust and find ways to be more effective. For 15 years I have watched other tanking classes get relatively easy abilities that generate lots of aggro and DPS. Yet, Prots have rarely been upgraded or even nerfed a few times. If Prot Paladins were more in-line with keeping a steady stream of DPS and have less cooldowns - we would be formidable tanks like years before.Lastly, no more skirt/kilt type armor sets please. It's bad enough that our class color is pink.
I dont want to be that guy, but the representation of Prot Pallys in M+ are very, very good, just below Warrior, because lets face it, no other tank is beating a Prot Warrior unless they gut the dps from it. Im not sure who or what they writer is looking at for popularity but the Prot Pally from my experience and running keys is the second most popular tank. Whether you look at Subcreation -which is certain key levels or raider.io which is skewed by the continuation of the same people doing high keys. One thing for sure and there is no denying, is that the Prot pally is the ultimate pug tank. Another is that something needs to be done with sotr, its very lackluster to even push, you push it and still get chunked and the shield bubble is nearly non-existent. If they want - and maybe too powerful - is to get rid of the shield bubble (lets face it we use it for dps not for the bubble) and put the bubble behind sotr. There it will act like IP, but not spammable like IP as it uses holy power and it'll be worthwhile to push. And with this it'll act more like the IP, Blood Shield, Ursocs whatever its called, Celestial Brew, and Blizzard can tilt the bubble on how much it can protect with magical AND physical. Quick and easy fix. Because depending on a lackluster shield bubble waiting for RNG procs is so exciting.
Person who wrote this arricle either don't play pro pal on regular basis or is just trolling.Prot paladin was in no need what-so-ever to re work his utility cooldown or buff his survivability, protect paladin was in need to generate HP in more stable manner so you could predict when you can help healers in m+, one of critical points where prot pals excelled, and more single target dmg which in prot paladin was the worst out of all.People *!@#$ed on AS and it's HP generation but are completely fine with 25s CD on ^&*!ing spell reflect for warriors. Now not only prot pals were cocked at start with removal of HP from AS, also they will loose double HP from judgement during AW, it was hard to maintain your active mitigation already at times, now it will be even harder and healers will not be in any position to expect WoG being thrown at party at critical times.....
In the current state of paladin you need to time your DR skills just right which then still leaves you with a window of No-DR.Now first of all im not saying paladins are weak atm because they are already doing great. Im playing one myself with 2k rio and pushing keys between 15-18 right now.. the problem resides in that small window of no DR.Basicly at the start of a fight you are a warrior, but then after a few DR cooldown you about a 24 second window where you are a gaurdian druid but withouth the mass armor.. or a DK without the heavy self healing.. it takes alot of work or a high skillcap (CC) to stay alive in this window. So paladins are great in M+, if you know how to play. However in raiding they feel a bit squishy.. and i think these changes will actually fix that. Also sanctified plates will help alot with that.I havent tried the PTR yet but seeing the talents the only real big change i see is actually sanctified plates.. for the rest we get a very little damage increase buff.. which was actually needed to be on par with warrior and the block chance increase on WoG actually helps us stay alive in that small window..Long story short.. i think its good that they are taking paladin to the warrior level and then getting all the tanks there.. dont forget that monks and DH are also kreeping up the ladders..The tank realy falling short atm is gaurdian druid.. i actually switched from gaurdian to prot paladin not too long ago because of the squishy bear status...7
Where are hunter survivability improvements? Blizzard sucks...
It would be nice to get back the holy power generation from avenger's shield
Maybe i'm alone in thinking that BoP and BoSG should have a 2-2.5 min cooldown baseline, besides having Avenger shield generate holypower. Most of the other tanks get defensives as strong if not better than those 2 blessings in a 1.5-3min cd, without a debuff like forbearance. There was no good reason to remove the AS Holy Power Generation, i remember reading it was intended to hinder the paladin uptime of the shield of the righteous, yet it wasn't a good idea compare to the other tanks, even less to the DK and the Warrior. which uptime is insane.the 20% Dmg reduction of the blood rune, and the shield block + ignore pain thing.Just give back the AV HP Generation, reduce the BoP and BoSG cooldown while making them independent, and for god sake remove forbearance.
How about fix Prot Pally's 4pc tier bonus?
