Can we just get Ascendance back as baseline ffs? Just so we have a strong cd.It’s sad that we have to take a talent to make our only cooldown actually strong, Feral Spirit is pretty pathetic without Elemental Spirits.
"a bit weak right now" ?realy blizz,as far as I know it the worst offensive CD of the game
Would love to see a flavor thing added to this talent of also interacting with our Ghost Wolf forms... or just give us Elemental Ghost Wolf glyphs :DI hope while they are tuning this they also change the animations for enhance back to swinging the spells from the weapons like frostbrand in BFA because man on the ptr does the enhance look glitchy. Equip, don't equip, try to equip but half the animation for the spell plays before the weapon is out. Casting shocks from the weapons is just better. BFA was kinda terrible to enhance, but at least they got the animations right.
the baseline ability needs to either be more of an offensive push from the wolves' damage, or defensive buffer; their attacks used to heal you back in the day.For the talent you just need to have all 3 types of wolves pop so all your elemental damage will always get buffed. Easy-peasy fix which the community has been suggesting forever. Additionally I think the talent should incorporate a smaller duration of the vision of perfection proc where you'll randomly get wolves to come to your aid.
MakeAscendance baseline for ele and enhance, give ele and enhance shamans another defensive (something to do with SL, its damn spirit realm four fox sake. Other than Shamans are some of the most spirit realm oriented class fantasy class in the game besides DK and priest.) This is something that needs to be addressed, literally because of what little they got in terms of buffs or additions. Cannot even play ele or enh in raid because how many other classes got buffed and the fact that Nathria is so melee punishing, with ele not being stronger. Have to roll a better ranged class to mythic raid.
I would rather they reworked the whole last row of talents for enhancement shaman into a Burst cooldown choice.Enhancement has a "problem" of having little to no downtime, almost no other DPS spec can compete in DPS with enhancement shaman without either of them using cooldowns. While this sounds good on paper, this means that any and every time he has to stop DPSing to do a mechanic, be it a raid or m+, he is loosing a LOT of damage unlike a fire mage, paladin, assa and sub rogue, and others, where they can use their big damage buttons, do most of their damage when no mechanics are required, and then do mechanics while they wait for cooldowns, meaning their DPS loss isn't as impactful. While other specs that have a more similiar feel to to enhancement shaman constant uptime on DPS like a monk, frost mage and DH, they at least have a LOT of burst mobility so they can minimize this downtime with blink, roll and dash. While shamans have only a movement speed increase to compete with that. Also not having a good cooldown to focus your damage on means that you can't "plan" around your damage, like for example a fire mage you can plan to pull extra when you know he has combustion in mythic+ while shamans will always bring a similiar amount of DPS regardless of having a cooldown up or not.And the current last talent tier choices emphasize on this.Earthen spike strengthens his "weakness/strength" of having low downtime, so you can always be using it, but it makes any time you are not Using it be a bigger loss on DPS. Feral spirits feel more like a Ret Paladin Wake of Ashes ability but weaker with a longer cooldown. Seriously, you gain 6 maelstrom weapon stacks over 15 seconds, you use 5 on an ability, 2 minutes cooldown and deal some damage, 1 free ability and 20% for the next one. Paladin Wake of Ashes gives you 5 Holy power, AoE big burst damage, will stun demon and Undead (shadowlands is filled with undead) for 5 seconds and is on a 45 SECOND cooldown, he gains 1 spender and 66% for the next one, and that is not even his burst ability, he still has AW or Crusade, how are we to compete? Elemental spirits buffs it to become a pseudo/cooldown that focuses on RNG. Using primal primer build in BFA and getting 2 storm wolves or frost wolves or one of each was awful. Having a big AoE pull and getting frostwolves was awful. And it also wasn't a MAJOR dps increase, it increases your damage sure, but a 50% increase in stormstrike damage and windfury damage isn't as impactful as something like a 30% haste and damage increase, or 100% crit chance, or 30% haste, you get the point. Not only is it RNG, even if you get lucky it doesn't compare to most other burst cooldowns in the game. And ascendance While it feels like a Cooldown, I'll try to explain why I dislike it. It turns you ranged, reduces SS cooldown, makes Attacks and SS ignore armor. So it turns you ranged, but it doesn't make lava lash ranged, so using this portion of the ability makes you not able to use one of your main abilities unless you ignore the ranged part and stay melee. Second is that if offers NO benefit for AoE, or a very minor one in getting more SS attacks to get the AoE crash lightning damage. Basically NO AoE benefit. It has anti-synergy with the most fun part of enhancement shaman kit, Stormbringer. The biggest part of this abilty is to reset the cooldown on stormstrike, but by making that cooldown shorter, reseting it feels worse than without the cooldown because you are only getting a smaller part of the cooldown back and NOT even utilizing the 66% reduction in cooldown. And lastly, it scales worse the more haste and mastery you have, the higher your haste, the less 66% reduction in cooldown is and the higher your chance to proc stormbringer the weaker the reduction in cooldown is. By no means is it a bad talent, but it FEELS bad when it takes the most important part of the shamans kit and throws it away.It would be better to instead create a whole new row of talents that for example are 3 burst cooldown abilities, one for single target, one for AoE and one for a ascendance range version. For example summon a Fire, Wind and Storm elemental. For example maybe a Choosing fire elemental buffs your lava lash and flame shock really hard and really increases single target damage. Wind elemental focuses on windfury crash lightning applies windfury to all targets and also buffs stormstrike, maybe he also gives you the current talent Fury of Air for the duration to help in AoE/cleave. And Storm elemental, I was thinking and I love this idea, it gives you INFINITE MAELSTROM WEAPONS STACKS for the duration and turns your auto attack into ranged, meaning you can effectively become a ranged caster just spamming lightning bolts/chain lightning and frost shocks during it, taking somewhat of a place of ascendance, but instead of ranged auto attacks you gain instant lightning bolt casts that always use 5 maelstrom that could buff your frost shock if you have hailstorm and for 15-20 seconds you can just spam that from range while also attacking. Or you could use it to somewhat be a healer in heavy healing periods by casting instant buffed chain heals non-stop during it, maybe making it a niche for some raid fights that you need extra healing in a few places but instead of taking an extra healer you take an enhancement shaman that can turn into a healer for 15-20 seconds for heavy healing periods, adding to utility.
Hello I'm a heal shaman off spec enhancement and overall looking at stats and looking video I realy think this class like every beggin of expension is very weak! Also very happy the healing sham can compete ine raid for the beggin of an Expac that sound awesome! Still pretty weak in Dongeon and damage output for other content, I think they should revisit the class to add some instant and damage for the other content (other then Raiding) Also I would suggest that the Totems as there is many coming back to remove it of the GCD (healing AND dps) so we can provide suport and no slaking on GCD before getting in fightImagine that on enhancement on everypack you use windfury totem (with GCD) that means every pack in dungeon or other content you are behind everyone about 1 GCD?About the damage spec : enhancement and Elemental I think the shaman realy needs some look from the developpers because as the gameplay is fun the numbers talk and the stats are clearly under the other damage specs. Knowing that between the First damage spec of every class and the enhancement there is a HUGE GAP! please take a look at this blizzard!(hypothetical numbers) If the first damage class is at 5k dps it is not normal that enhancement being or not the last is at max dps per encounter about 2.2k overall! There is a gap of more then 100% between both of them. There is also some GCD issues Why shaman is the only one that have GCD on EVERYTHING except interrupt and all other class has atleast 1 or 2 Burst spell without GCD? As spirit wolf are low dps and just a litle haste buffer and very short in fight maybe remove the GCD? the other suggestion I have maybe remove the elementals of GCD so we can use it earlyer to survive or provide supportSorry for the long post Hope my feedback will be listened!
also put it off gcd
I hope they shift around the damage of the talent choices, right now the AOE talents aren't competitive with each other in the situations they feel like they should be. And not even to mention that Feral Spirits is a pretty terrible CD, having the only decent all around talent choice to modify/add CDs still be elemental doggos is wasted potential more than anything else. Also, since the shift to Maelstrom Weapon again, they should get a slightly stronger heal because they have much fewer self healing options now they are going away from the straight instant cast self heal. I only advocate for this because Enh still has a pretty terrible DR, and the self healing essentially on demand since Legion has been pretty pivotal.A little more insight on talents, the passive ones are actually quite good overall, but extremely boring. The guaranteed stack of Maelstrom Weapon on Stormstrike talent is something so "duh" that it feels like it should just be baseline, but it makes such a huge difference to your MW flow that it earns its place as a talent. New hot hand is fun but feels pretty terrible alongside the already proc heavy rotation and managing dots on multiple targets. It is definitely a playable talent set, but it has so much build up and relies on RNG to do meaningful damage that it may never get played unless it does the most damage in sustained AOE fights.New Hailstorm is an amazing playstyle but it currently feels like the old Survival problem, where they either had nothing to press or everything to press all at once, and it came down to RNG every moment. Ice Strike helps liven the rotation in single target where MW gains are slower, but it sometimes can't be pressed in AOE situations because of just how much MW you get sporadically. Also Stormkeeper feels very weird as Enhance, but maybe that's just my opinion. Because it can consume your MW stacks it also feels like a weird extra step in many circumstances, but definitely has its uses. Weaving two Chain Lightnings between Crash Lightning for the buff could prove to be incredible snap AOE if a fight calls for it, but that's me being charitable. This is just a bunch of loose thoughts I've had from a longtime Enh main playing on the PTR. Its fun to play this old WoD style again with a twist, I'm sure I'll enjoy it all the same, just hoping Enh becomes the best spec it can be given the new direction they want to take it.
Just get rid of all the last two rows of talents and make Sundering, Elemental Spirits and Ascendance baseline. And make one of the rows a purely defensive row, and another for utility/healing.if those bases are covered then they are good to go.
Rework last row of talents into 3 different options for a burst cooldown, rework ascendance into someting that synergyzes with his kit (maybe leave it as a PvP talent since it's good there) and give us 3 different cooldowns for the last talent row. Summon Fire elemental, Summon Storm Elemental, Summon Wind Elemental.Wind elemental channels Fury of Air Talent at the shamans location while active, increases your haste x% and causes your crash lightning initial cast to always apply windfury to all targets hit. Fury of Air Damage is increases for each proc of Windfury proc during it. Basically big AoE cooldown that rewards for getting as many windfury procs as possible and increases your haste to give you more chances, also the bigger the pull the more windfury you can proc through Crash Lightning. 3 min CD.Fire Elemental casts fireball on your current target. Each cast increases your fire damage dealt to the target by x%. While active, increases your mastery by x% and causes your lightning bolt to become Lava burst and Chain lightning to become Lava chain, and causes lava lash to give one maelstrom weapon stack when used. Big single target cooldown that greatly increases fire damage and makes your MSW spenders to deal fire damage instead to use this. A good cooldown to mainly help in single target damage. 3 min CD.Storm elemental casts lightning bolt at your target, everytime he casts lightning bolt (casts around 5 times over his duration, casts 1 more time with for every 15% haste you have), you gain 2 MSW stacks. During this time chain lightning hits 2 extra targets and lightning bolt has double chance to critically strike. The next 3 abilities that consume 5 maelstrom weapon stacks have 30% increased chance to critically strike and it's critical strikes deal x% increased damage. Replaces Feral spirits. 1.5 min CD. An option to help with the current sustained damage profile of enhancement but transform feral spirits from a generator ability to a short burst cooldown, making it generate more MSW stacks during it and empower the casts. Now add one more defensive, preferably on earth shield like giving it a short duration but make it reduce damage you take by 60%, but every time you take damage the damage reduction reduces by 20% (60%>40%>20%). If all 3 charges are consumed then you heal for 40% of the damage prevented. Creating some really good PvE uses for it and some smart play in PvP where you can reduce big abilities with it and heal a lot, or enemies use very weak skills to break the shield and make it a nonfactor. And that should be enough to cover most of our problems which are lack of a window to do damage (I know that we are a sustained damage spec, but that does not work in current WoW when people have to do mechanics in boss fights or dungeons and loose a lot of DPS compared to someone that can pump their damage in a 30 second window and then loose minimal DPS, also it is not fun to be a static turret to have 100% uptime making use of our sustained damage and doing 0 mechanics in fights to not loose uptime on boss) and lack of defensive options making us one of the squishiest classes in the game with only one defensive that has to be used proactively. Now for a bonus, make Reincarnation reset on boss encounters for raids, so that we can have it on every pull and use it as a pseudo immunity for mechanics that might need someone to soak something that would kill them like a hunter turtle or rogue cloak, or paladin bubble, so we could also fill that spot with Reincarnation every pull and not one pull every 30 minutes. Also would be nice for us to not loose consumables (food runes, warrior priest mage buffs) and not take repair cost if we come back to life with Reincarnation DURING an encounter. So we don't loose a bunch of buffs and get a huge repair bill for doing a mechanic to benefit our guild, but only works DURING encounters so that you can't ankh to reset boss and mass ress your raid and not waste consumables or have the repair bill. Do these things and shamans will shine again
3 weeks later and nothing. Notice they never said they're working on it or that they'll fix it. They just acknowledged that our main DPS CD is trash and that's all. Maybe in 10.0
what i want and i feel that every enhancement player would want is for elemental spirits to be baseline and add a new talent that buffs the dmg of wolves by like 100% and adds a 3rd wolf to fight for you
Wolves could be like in wotlk even if 3 min cooldown they last longer and then would line up nicely with ascendance(but not necessary) , make them damage higher not like wet noodles. A comparison of damage could be white tiger from ww monk or bm hunter pet while bestial wrath active. Make them aoe attacks and maybe heal? Beacuse it could help with long story squishiness of enh, also the stun like they had in wrath, because this cooldown compared to other 2 min ones is just garbagge, example combustion from fire mages, it is the cooldown that makes mage so bursty. Beside from wolves maelstrom weapon could reduce cast time of hex. Enh the last melee with non-instant baseline cc. Also wind rush totem baseline( druids got their stampending in all specs), the totem could also not break spirit wolf form like casting waterwalk.
