The issue with Devastation is it needs a midscope update similar to what Aff got in Nighthold and such. The spec is far too binary to allow for enough levers to work with ESPECIALLY in ST. Yes, before this change you were pretty much spamming Disintegrate, but with this change your alternative is now using garbage filler like Living Flame which no one ever wants to press ESPECIALLY when you are obligated to give it the longer cast time since the damage buff works with the instant cast procs. Also, they need to address Flame Breath. It shouldn't be a DPS loss to charge an empowered ability no matter how you look at it.
I think the single target damage nerf was needed. I haven't played with the changes yet, but before hand Devastation felt really really strong to me. I'm fine swapping some ST for some AoE. Can't be good at everything, unless you're a monk! But then you get nerfed. :p
worst thing of this specc is having to stand still and spam disintegrate
Why didn't they just make Pyre also have a chance to generate essence burst?
The 25 m range is and remains a wrong decision.Blizzard has to adapt old and new content around the class to keep it playable.P.s: The hover disappears with every CC is hopefully a bug. It's also a shame that Blizzard doesn't release any info on how they currently feel about the class.
