Of course, this was coming! My tank was popping 15 million of passive damage in M12 ish runs and it topped my dps by a lot. It also pushed me close to 30k dps for the dungeon. But, honestly, I thought that was the point (to jack tank damage)? So what they are saying is: no, tank damage going way up was not planned or balanced for by making the new affix and all dungeons 53% harder... Interesting. What it means, to me, is that plan on a LOT of future dps corruption nerfs as some of the threat countering tank damage is going down... whee.
Actually very reasonable and thought up way of tuning it. This way it still stays reasonably strong in Single target and Smaller AoE (e.g. safe dungeon pull situation). And it stops getting out of hand when you increase the target count massively (like ToS eye room). The downside is, that it might push people yet again (after hard echoing void nerf) to farm a different BIS corruption and hope it won´t get nerfed just running the treadmill that´s not all that pleasant since aquisition of the corruption franky sucks by not being targettable in any way.
People comparing a single target damage over AoE are the reason this game is not dying.
People saying the nerf is “Reasonable” are the same people that still cannot do Horrific Visions with more than 1 mask up. GL doing solo 5 masks after the nerf, especially if you run a class that depended on it.
No matter if you are one of those who likes or dislikes the corruption system (I'm somewhere in between), no passive effect in game should ever deal top DPS for any class. This is just plain wrong. If you take a look at some parses on warcraftlogs, you will notice massive bursts of TD at fights like Hive etc. This should have never happened. Those corruption effects are okay, they fit the N'zoth theme well but the lack of control players have over their characters etc became way too ridiculous. Classes use 5 skills in their rotation and when you check the logs, there are additional 20 passive effects that proc without player doing absolutely nothing different. I sometimes laugh as a fury warrior when questing. I often just auto attack a mob and more often then not, they die instantly, from 20 other passive effects I have. This is primary reason why people are dissatisfied. You cannot achieve consistent performance e.g. in raids anymore because it all boils down to procs etc.
well it effects most of us since ppl barely time 15+ keys like me and my friends and its like 1 min behind or something, and twilight is like around 8-10m damage of total. So its gonna effect...
So, Infinite Stars and Twilight Dev are above average in Blizz's Mind, they nerf it. (Not slight nerf either )Fire Mage and Havoc DH CLEARLY avobe every other DPS specWhat does Blizzard do?they nerf the system that allow other classes to catch up with those 2 godly specs, so the disparity grows even larger. Also, they had to nerf it the day before MDI PTR, they cant afford players finding out what a !@#$ing clown fiesta the whole system is, when they decide to 5-Stack Twilight dev on every piecewhat a disgrace.
A very very very elegant way of nerfing, reducing only the most OP of cases.
This is just for MDI. MDI if this was left unchecked, would've been 4-5 tanks all stacking 40% or so twilight devastation and mass pulling. Now they can't. This will not effect live servers at all, which is weird, because twilight devastator still does a consistant 30% or so of your damage as a tank, sustained, on aoe.
