I'm not quite sure where this person got the feeling that it was required or even expected of Blizzard to "clearly communicate" changes and additions to the ToS.Blizzard has on record this dude's agreement to the fact that Blizzard has no obligation to not only notify the playerbase, but no obligation to act consistently with punishments. It is up to the discretion of the GM. The GM felt, on a case-by-case basis, that a ban should be enacted. The other person who got a warning had a GM that, on a case-by-case basis, felt that deserved a warning.I'm pretty sure there's a blanket statement in there too that reserves their right to close your account for any reason.
Thank you Blizzard, ban all advertisers.
You treat your self to round of bear well deserved my dear GM.You are doing God's work.
Good. I hate spammers and boosters. They ruin the game.
Spamming has always been against the TOS.
About frekking time, most of the boost-gold goes straight to the gold seller firms.
git rektban em all
Are we supposed to feel sorry for this guy? Honestly, I'm tired of sifting through the crap ton of advertisments every time I'm in trade chat or in LFD Tool. Bye!
Their spamming trade chat, Selling runs for real money and breaking tos on so many levels.
A lot of short sighted comments in this post.If they decide to start banning people for this out of the blue, what stops them from one day, say, deciding that FFXIV is doing better with "illegal" meters, and suddenly everyone with a DPS meter gets instant-banned without even a warning to uninstall them?We as a civilization depend on laws being clear and enforced accordingly to their clarity, the same applies to the game. Are boosts good or bad for the game health? not sure and honestly don't care that much, but out of the blue, unannounced changes in policy being strictly enforced is VERY bad for its health.
As an update to this :The knowledge base article for Advertising has been update to include this line :“ Accounts that are used for the primary purpose of advertising may be closed.”
This new change will actually help alot to combat boost spamers. They cant use anymore throw away accounts to clog the LFD listings and spam in trade.well played Blizz well played.
This is long overdue and I for one couldn’t be happier that they are finally going to ban the spammers.
