i think in theory, the idea of doing all sorts of content to stay relevant is cool, but i suppose people really hate pvp or pve with a passion and vice versa. i've tried pvp before but all i find are toxic people that crap on newer players, even if you're on the same teampve has their own elitism, but nothing like pvp, ive found
Of course they are. Holinka is back and WoD PvP was his baby. Honestly I like the idea. I don’t think pve gear should be relevant in pvp. Or vice versa. I think if you go into rated pvp with pve gear you should be at a severe disadvantage. As for unrated it shouldn’t matter. In pve if you go into it with pvp gear, rated or not, you should be at a severe disadvantage. A way to make this work wouldn’t have to involve unique stats or traits. Simply have a system that nullifies secondary and tertiary stats on pve gear in pvp or pvp gear in pve content. So only your main stat will be active.
WoD scaling was one of, if not the best PvP gearing systems. PvErs have no reason to complain about this because they have the new Valor system and they should not have the best PvP gear in the game. PvP gear should not be the best PvE gear in the game. Also, no one back in WoD complained about this system either. It would be cool if we could gear up as fast as we could back in WoD when you just needed to take your alt through Ashran for a day.
I hope so, Dont pvp. But i did during MOP the most i ever pvp'd at all.
Please do this. Farming a Badge pvp trinket is the last thing on earth I want to waste my time on.
PvP gear was horrible, oh god please don't bring that back, my bags can't take it.
Almost entirely in favour of this system. It's a very simple, elegant way of ensuring that PVP gear is the best for PVP, and that PVE gear is the best for PVE.However, in order to work in Shadowlands, they would have to significantly boost the drop rate in M+ and raids, because currently farming honour in random BGs still seems like the most efficient way of gearing up a newly-levelled character.
This is just there way of fixing the massive difference in player power mainly due to the weekly vault giving random rewards and not having a catch up for missing it stacked with the pvp upgrade system that is also a total failure. Its no surprise that people will have a hard time keeping up considering your rank determines your highest power level and there is no penalty to your power level when playing under your current rating, regardless of what type of match it is. You have people with 2100 in RBGs and full 226 gear playing 1800 mmr 2s matches against 1750 players who have a max ilvl of 213 and might have missed vault rewards. Zero balance with this system so im all for WoD style pvp
I think PVP scaling is necessary in two ways. First is the problem in PVE, seeing top end raiders and M+ players wearing half PVP gear instead of filling 1-3 slots is kind of insane for the first two or three months of the season. It never should have scaled to mythic raid levels and always have been 1 tier lower like the valor 220 cap. Second problem is the PVP entrance gating beginning to show. Anyone who didn't gear and rank up early or alts in general are a good 5-6k hp down in their given brackets they start playing at. A really good player is able to negate this but for the average Joe they are going to have a really hard time ever playing with LFG and getting gear to a point where it is competent.
The game needs this so freaking bad. Mythic PvE gear would no longer be able to carry the 220+ pve hero mongoloids in arenas, and it would also reduce the power gap between entry level pvp gear and BiS pvp gear, which would allow skill to play a bigger role in fight outcomes.Any change that leads to PvP gear being superior to PvE gear in PvP is a change I support.I honestly feel like honor gear should get boosted to 240ilvl in PvP, conquest to 260. Then the PvE heroes can try to come on in with their 220s and get chained farmed by people in honor gear WHICH SHOULD GET SET BONUSES BACK and ability modifiers on the gloves. Sounds like a dream come true.I also thing another solid idea is for all PvE trinkets to be greyed in instanced PvP. There is a real opportunity here to remove PvE from PvP, and we can not afford to miss out on what could be the best thing to happen to wow PvP in a long time.
I'm surprised how many people pay to play only half the game here. Shadowlands gearing has been great for people that do both activities. This change will require substantially more time investment to do both again.
I will never PvE again if this means PvP gear is bad in PvE. If it means that it's just better in PvP an still good in PvE, I'll still enjoy m+ with friends and raid pugs:-) If I have to gear up twice, I'm out.
