Love it. There's no choice to hunters any more. Give me a reason to pause before a battle and pick between my pets depending on the situation.
So we are losing the ability to pick our pets spec? That REALLY sucks in all honesty Really hope they change this
Why would they do this? On top of the personal loot nerf to transmog collectors, this is another horrible move by Blizzard to restrict player freedom.
Not a fan of this... My engineer hunter runs around primarily with mechanical pets, the mech gorilla for tanking and a mech wolf (one of each color to match my mog of the day) for DPS. This change makes them all Cunning and completely useless for someone that doesn't PVP ever? Not a fan. Glad I'm planning on changing mains already.
I just want to keep my wolf cub Hati, that's all I ask Blizz. You've already wrecked the lore and the storytelling of multiple of my favourite characters, just let me keep my wolf cub I got from the Dreamgrove..
I understand this might be changed and is early alpha, but if it makes it to live this definitely feels like a step backwards. I've been maining MM with lone wolf since it's basically been uncontested DPS-wise the entire expansion for MM but being able to choose my pet skin and not having to worry about the spec matching up was fantastic, akin to being able to change the look of your gear through transmog instead of being forced to a jumbled/mismitched set. I hope this doesn't make it to live, only time will tell.
Can't they just make item that Hati had to change appearance and just make it for normal pets, some sort of pet mogging into different pets that you tamed or have in stables. Also add glyphs to enlarge pet 15-25% and shrink pet 50% like other pet classes have. PROBLEM SOLVED.
My gnome hunter only uses mechanical pets. It's part of her RP. In my head, my gnome hunter invents all her pets herself. And now if I want a pet suitable for the content I do (mostly solo PvE), I won't be able to stick with her mechanical theme any more because her entire pet collection will be locked to cunning spec.My other hunter - who is my main - has a crazy cat lady theme running, but primarily uses the mana cats (spirit beasts) as they don't make that annoying growl sound and partly because I like their appearance. If this change is made, my gnome will have to use non-mech pets thus losing her RP and her theme, and if I want a DPS pet on my main then I'll have to put up with that irritating growling that cats do when they're idling.Very upset about this for my gnome, in particular. At least my main hunter will be able to continue to use her crazy cat lady theme.
this change is utterly stupid and when it comes to spirit beasts become tank spec only that is esoecially stupid because when they were released they were ferocity.
terrible direction. already restricted to bring cr/bl pets i cant use 99% of tamed rare and cool pets from my stable. should be going in the direction of avaiable choices for pet special abilities to allow the use of painfully aquired and farmed rare pets and improved stable size not restricting even more.
I like that they are restoring special abilities to all families but locking spec by family is pretty bad
i never changed my pets' specs anyways because I think the way Blizzard does, spec should be based on pet type. but i'm a #$%^ty hunter and player and person i guess.i like that they are adding back abilities to the ones that lacked.all ferocity pets get bloodlust now? i guess that core hound and nether ray have seen their heyday and it's past now.
Friendly reminder that hunters were less vocal about BM's rotation being a two button joke and as a result it's still a 2 button joke 18 months after they acknowledged that it was in a post 3 days before Legion launched. It's never too early to sound the alarm on a change this bad.
Lots of anger on this, hmm. This doesn't bother me much; this looks exactly like how it used to be a few expansions ago. It is convenient now to be able to switch, and I like the versatility, but this would just mean I dust off some of the pets in my stable that I stopped using. I still picked my favorite pet of that particular spec/ability. Even now you still have to use certain pets if a group needs heroism/bloodlust or battlerez, or whatever other special request groups have, so it's not going to be that different. Just remember those days when you had to run on foot in Azeroth to tame a beast on another continent to learn the ability you wanted your main pet to have.
yea but will we get a bigger stable
there is a reason spirit beasts are very popular. why take them away? sounds a lot like changing things just for the sake of changing. a very stupid idea.
