ok so... if deaths dont matter anymore cuz we can just bring anyone back, varian when? :D
I'm a amazed by how Steve always manages to outdo himself. After what happened in Shadowlands I expected him to be put in closet to never be heard of again, but there he is, pulling yet another random bull%^&* out of his ass."Because Ysera is bound to Ardenweald, she is unable to return to the mortal realm. However, because she died sacrificing herself for Malfurion, it seems Malfurion is able to take her place, allowing her to leave".How does that even work Steve ? How is it the first time we even heard about that ? And please try to explain to me in what timeline did Ysera sacrificed herself for Malfurion ? She was the objective from the very beginning, the fish does not sacrifice itself to save the bait. How can you lie so blatantly and expect no one to realize ? How come any random player know more about the story than the story director ?
Bla, bla, bla. In other words the story is this = "Malfurion doesn't matter, we just want to get him out of the way".
TLDR: Blizzard forgot that druids go to sleep in the Emerald Dream and now this is their equivalent.
If data mining wasn't a thing, this would be interesting
We're going to get a moment in an expansion where all seems lost and on the 11th hour Illidan, Anduin, Sylvanas and Malfurion all return in a practiced formation.
I wish I could be shocked that no one picked up on the obvious Persephone juxtaposition there. This fan-dumb is so knee jerky with their reactions. This is why Blizzard should just keep fan engagement to a minimum at this point.
My favorite Stormrage brother used to undo what happened in Legion and SL. Whenever a character is brought back to life it makes the consequences of that death useless. Still, considering how they write stories and they have too many characters on a plate and it is inconsistent they can do whatever. It does not matter. If it did matter bringing Ysera back it would change her the way she thinks and perspective on decision-making but we will not get that, it is tradition to keep characters as they are. Alexstrasza is still a fool and had not changed after Cataclysm and she gets adapted to the "current" expansion rather than adapting the expansion for the current character development of the characters that are planned in the expansion.Instead of taking a character, tell a story with it and thus develop that character further pause the character, make a note to save the character arc and have it in mind for the next expansion so that it makes sense. I can think of very few characters that had an arc, atleast as far as my memory serves: Saurfang, Varian, Illidan, Anduin & Velen. Arthas, before anyone says anything, had his arc done, it was finished in Warcraft 3: TFT. As the Lich King had its arc in WoTLK. Sylvanas had an arc which was War3: TFT - WotLK - Cataclysm which was coherent then it went ape%^&* with BFA - SL. Legion feels like she would have continued where she was left with the Cataclysm but for some reason it had her going in another direction in BFA - SL that broke her character. Malfurion had an incoherent arc, if you can call it that. Warcraft 3 - He wakes up in Cataclysm where he had no character development. He just woke up to fix @#$% then in Legion he was like a new character and in BFA he was AGAIN re-written to be the dummy target of Sylvanas & Saurfang which considering how powerful Malfurion cannonically is he should have handled both at the same time effortlessly. In WoW he was never treated as a character but more of a plot device that fixes stuff. Ironically, he used just as that now, too.Anyway, I just dont want to waste 30 minutes on writting an essay onwhy this type of writting is just distasteful.
Can Ysera and Eranikus at least have their one moment together? He needs to know that he is forgiven.
Man remember when a character dying used to actually have any amount of impact? Now that we can just cycle them in/out of the shadowlands PC boxes I'm starting to wonder if mob respawns are actually just canonical and no one can ever actually die. Joking aside Ysera's death in legion was a really powerful scene and I'm kind of sad how much this kind of neuters it, and that they chose to just recycle her again rather than use a fresh new character. Also here to join the angry mob about the lack of a tag, I already knew about it but yeah that would have been pretty miserable if I was someone who had been trying to avoid spoilers.
Not this again. We need Merithra to be the new Aspect of Nature. Do we?
Just a thought maybe Ysera will pop back n forth mentoring in a sense to her daughter, teaching her not to make the mistake she made n helping learn and grow
If they plan on bring him back I'm fine with it. Bringing back new energies intrigues my druid too. lol
