Lot of peaple want relevant PvP gear. Try out, get gear from PvP without arena boost with a fresh character. Time consuming as hell. Better run 3-4 HC dungeon and go on Mythic. From 390 to 443 takes aprox ~10 - 15 hour gameplay, depend on drops and teammates. So how much time does it take achive that with pure PvP? Put back gear from Honor and Conquest vendors with separate stat from PvE.Don't force players to do PvE content just to gear up, it's like forcing PvE players to do daily BGs.
resilience will fix it.
all of you pve guys crying that you will actually have to pvp to have GOOD gear for pvp i feel really sorry for you but this is how the game is supposed to be. Current system is dog crap.
It's just ignorant to call PvP-players lazy if they dont like to grind PvE content to get the best PvP-gear. If Blizzard decided to that all the best PvE gear is obtained by high rated PvP, or just endless honor grind - People would go nuts. I dont get why PvP gear always has to be so much worse than PvE. Just make it equal to mythic raiding gear. Hopefully thats what the upgrade system is for. They should disable PvE-trinkets in pvp aswell - they nerf them every season anyway and there's some interesting pvp trinkets already
I consider myself a "PvP'er", whatever the hell that means exactly. I do not want PvP power to return... or at the very least, only put it on PvP trinkets.Like most people (I think), I enjoy many aspects of the game. Got a 2.4k rating in S3 BfA, 2.2k this season. I got 2.5k IO score in M+ and 7/12M Ny'alotha. And I like that gear is gear - it doesn't magically stop being useful depending on the content I'm doing. I already have to change out what secondary stats I am using depending on the content. It's cool that by getting gear through multiple aspects of the game you can make your character stronger at all of them. That said, as other people have pointed out I think trinkets are kind of a different animal. I'd be fine with a concept like PvP power existing on PvP trinkets such that Blizzard has a way to change their effectiveness in PvP only relative to PvE trinket options to avoid the situation we had this season with Claw/Dres/Bike trinkets, or vice versa in other seasons where PvE focused players felt like they had to get a good badge trinket from PvP. Trinkets are kind of a place for wild design and I get that maybe they need a special tuning mechanism. But in general I am interested in making my character strong through a variety of challenges. I don't want to play a new alt and have to gear separately for PvE content and PvP content. I still want M+ or raiding to exist as a viable path toward getting a character geared up and then being able to hop into some PvP fun if I want to, and vice versa - A person should be able to play BGs/low mmr arena and it be a viable alternative gearing path toward PvE challenges. Honestly, I think a lot of the problems I'm seeing on this thread has to do with how poor the rewards are for grinding BGs and lower MMR arena relative to just stomping through M+ keys. I absolutely believe that it is a problem. But I think that problem is better solved by a combination of buffing PvP rewards and nerfing M+'s reward, not through PvP power.
I'm going to end this argument with a nuke. What's arguably the best wow expansion of all time? The answer is Wrath of the Lich King, True or false? Did WOTLK have pvp vendors with a unique pvp stat? The answer is yes! So do you pve Pepegas want to continue to see wow die or will you accept the fact this might be overall what's best for the game? If you don't like it just stay in your little safe space pve zones and cry about it while the game flourishes with the return of old/new players. Every system is going to have it's flaws but for the past several expansions pvp players have been forced into hardcore pve in order to be relevant in pvp. So what do we have to lose by changing it up and pulling a page from the past to see if it makes a difference in shadowlands?
so much pve'er cry baby here , grow up if you don't like pvp then don't play it
PvP to PvP, PvE to PvE. End of the story.
I think the way PVE players gear for PVP right now is fine. I don't care if PVP gear isn't good in PVE, but I think the way PVP players gear for PVP is abysmal and needs to be fixed. The problem with PVP is that the business model of the game is centered around making gearing slow enough that the raids don't get instantly cleared. The player base is such that anything spammable will be done so to disgusting degrees. This is why any spammable game mode has to drop worse gear than the raids. There is also a problem that high arena rating is possible at any gear level while high keys are not. Lets say everyone has a 400 ilvl right now and no gear drops. The same amount of teams would be 2400 and above, but hardly anyone would be doing +15s. Now that we are late in the patch practically everyone can do a +15 and still hardly anyone is above 2400. This means PVP gear can't be good in PVE early in the patch or it would ruin the business model. As the player base get more gear PVE gets easier and PVP gets harder. Which makes it so that late in the patch PVP isn't worth doing to get gear for itself. What has happened is that PVE gear has been easier to get the whole expansion, is even easier to get now, and is in some instances also just better. I think if they don't want to make the PVE players PVP then it should go both ways and I also think if they want us to do both then they should be *mostly* equivalent. Again I'm more concerned that PVP isn't a good way to get PVP gear and not that PVE gear is better. To balance PVP in a way that doesn't impact raid progression there has to be a gearing difference but Blizzard has stated that they don't want you to have to grind two sets of gear. So how do we make PVP gear stronger without it effecting PVE content and also without requiring PVE players to grind to have entry? A few Ideas:1. Make a vendor with little or, ideally, no cost that gives base gear with a PVP stat. Make the PVP ilvl gap smaller so that the grind is worthwhile but less impactful. Or instead of locking a whole ilvl behind a rating go back to the old system of locking slots to a rating. As an example: the vendor could give you gear at 100% power, unrated PVP could give 101% and rated PVP could give 102-105%. Something minimal but the gear would have to be tuned in such a way that wearing raid gear is at worst an risky choice and at best nonviable.OR 2. No PVP specific stat but make PVP gear drop at a significantly higher item level and a portion of the stats turned off in PVE. Lets say in current game it would be that 2400 drops 500 ilvl gear but that outside of warmode/BG/arena it greys out 35 ilvls worth of stats. BGs could drop 465 gear and grey out to 430. I'm even ok with the reverse where BGs would still drop 430 but when you are in warmode/BG/arena you get 35 extra iLVLs worth of stats. Obviously it could just as easily be 5 ilvls difference.OR 3. Give us a single PVP slot with drops only coming from PVP.
