would be the worst possible way to introduce someone to the game. That said, I think some of the other negatives (which are, admittedly, a matter of perspective) that you are hearing from people is 'what is the point of paying for a game - and then skipping 90% of the game' (I agree, though I can allow that if that is how people want to spend their money, it is theirs to spend) and 'OK - you don't want to level - why should you not have to earn your profs like everyone else' (which I don't see another side of, unless Blizz is going to start offering profession purchases to all players - and then the question becomes about rare recipes, etc.) - and that one, the 'equity' solution is equal to 'making wow no longer a game where players earn their way to excellence - and that, really, is at the heart of most of the comments. One of the things that used to distinguish wow was that those who were 'at the top' of whatever measure you are using, had to work to get there. Some people resent others being able to buy what they had to work for. Others dislike the idea of WoW becoming like so many other games where RL $ > player skill and dedication. They don't care for the attitude, atmosphere, or other aspects of those games, and played wow,in part *because* it was not that - and these moves suggest to them that WoW will soon degrade into a mere copy of the places they have not enjoyed being, and the game that *have enjoyed will cease to exist.
Actually you will only ge the proffesion to 600 if the character you upgraded was already 60+ otherwise, you wont
I can promise that sooner or later this game will be selling gear or some certain currency to buy gear. WoW is following the band wagon of apps and facebook games and things like this.Is only a matter of time we see rich people smashing the hell out everyone who cant afford to buy all the stuff in store.Money is the root of all evil and is destorying WoW. STOP BEING GREEDY BLIZZARD.If they made expansions like tbc and vanilla no doubt the game would get millions of more subs instead of losing them. Lazy and greedy is what they are now!
Going to say this and I honestly don't care if it gets negative feedback, what you have to back up what you're saying, or how selfish or lazy you are. I think the "free 90s" are a good idea, especially for the people who have played WoW since the beginning, who have worked their asses off to get where they are, and who still play WoW. Don't give me this bullcrap about how giving free 90s out will be creating too many noobs. I've seen people who have leveled from 1-90 and STILL don't understand anything they're doing. About the professions, that's a load off my chest, I've been playing WoW for 7 years and it is one hell of a break. To all the people QQing about how this is too easy, most of you are the ones who were complaining about how slow leveling was. Get over it. I'm all for it. I'm pretty excited about this expansion and if you aren't, stay off their, page, quit WoW if you still play, and stop complaining about everything they do. Simple as that. They aren't forcing you to buy the 90, it's your choice. You don't like it and still want to play? DON'T buy it.This is still in BETA anyways.
Well. At 5 level 90s, 2 88s and an 86, this is a nice change.
No debate about how good the game is, you missed the point. Those apps and such make money through IAP (In App Purchases). Although blizzard does this now with the shop in game. Sooner or later it's only a matter of time till money determines who has the better gear...
To be honest i don't care about the free 90s, and raid finders. What i do dislike is how everything is so easy to down. I like the idea of buying a 90. Why? Leveling up sucks. Dungeon finder is great. Why? Getting a group together over an hour or so and people afking on you while setting the group up sucked.most of the other things that have changed over the years tho, like everything being easier, not good.
OMG. Why? I have not looked too deeply into this but it seems to make my investment of money and time pointless. Maybe we should seek legal advice en mass.
WWFW. I think it is a great idea. Ok, let's look at the facts. As each expansion occurs the level grind to max gets longer and longer. So you have a friend that wants to play with you? They pay for the game, then you say "See you in a couple of months! I am off to raid, PvP, whatever with my maxed lvl guildies." Now we get up to 50 characters across all servers and 12 per server. So any player new or old can have or already has low level characters.I would advise a new friend to get the game then play several classes until they find the class they like to play. Maybe till lvl 20. then if they want boost it to 90. In WoD they still have to grind 10 levels. Also they do not get faction rep, achievements, bank slots, a guild, awesome sauce or fries. They will still have to do all of that. Do they get a farm with the tillers? Or a cloud serpent? Nope. Back in Lich King there were doomsayers saying "Oh you get a free lvl 55! Now the game is DOOOMED! the world will end! I will cancel my subscription!" To those that left "Good Riddance." You don't wanna play the game? Not happy with how it's done? Bye!" So the problem became, the game infested with DK's not able to play one of the most complicated classes in the game. How did that work itself out? We have the availability to kick players that cannot play their class. Those that stuck with it became some of the best DK's in the game. It is a social game. There will be good players and bad players. Nice players and @$$hats. Wanna see a most wretched hive of scum and villany? Make a human on Moonguard and goto Goldshire. "There will be more noobs!" Waah! You were a noob once, you may have even gotten over it."It's pay to win!" Waah! It isn't pay to win, It's a novel solution to getting friends into the game to play with you in a reasonable amount of time. You will help your friend learn their class if you can. They don't have any of the benefits the 'Old Timers' have. No Corrupted Ashbringers, no Amani warbears, no holidays titles, they don't even have rep with their own race factions."Millions will quit the game!" Glad you speak for so many players there Imperious leader. I am sure the legions of mindless cylons you command will do your bidding even as you have to afk cause you need to take out the trash."I will quit the game!" Try not to let the door hit you on the way out and don't delete toons or give your stuff away on the slight chance you will be back to play with friends (The true value of a multi-player social game)"I cannot afford it, so it isn't fair!" You are right. so instead of paying Blizzard the $15 per month maybe you should send it to starving orphans in a impoverished country."I have worked hard to achieve so much and had to level the long way to 90. Why should they get a break?" Cry me a river. If you enjoyed the game you enjoyed the trip, the leveling process and all those memories that came along with it. The Blood Plague, The Zombie invasion, Getting lit on fire by a random Deathwing strafe. If you didn't enjoy the game, why are you playing it? How does what another player do, dictate your enjoyment of the game?"I fear change! They should do things the way they always have! Like the old Talent trees! Everything is cookie cutter!" I guarantee that even with the widest variation of possibilities of talents and glyphs the game ever had you were not "unique in all the world" There were thousands that made the same good/bad/dumb choices you made. Embrace change, Humans are adaptable and thrive in environments that challenge them. "I don't like it!" Ok fair enough. and?....no seriously..and?...Your 'Opinion' is duly noted. If enough people (a very strong percentage on the millions of players) say that it diminishes their playing experience then I am sure Blizzard will kowtow to their wishes. This is why there will never be another 'zombie invasion' (a true moment in time where we all relied on each other against the griefers of the world...for 3 days!)Overall I say kudos to Blizzard for being innovative in the 'Bring a Friend' to the game conundrum.
Wow, all the people crying about an influx of noobs that don't know how to play their class...Did you ever stop to think that the reason the game sucks now is because of YOU? WoW probably has the worst gaming community of any MMO.People just go "u suck nub" kick them from a dungeon/raid and are done with it. No one takes the time to teach, no one cares enough to help, no one can handle a mistake without rage quitting, no one has any patience for anything, its all about instant gratification and has been for years. What's a "pay to get to 90" addition gonna change? Likely nothing.
Everyone is crying, more noobs more more more. No one is really seeing the pros to this, everyone seems to like to down every idea blizz have, I'll give a true list on Pros and ConsPros:1, a free 90 is mostly good due to not levelling everything again and again over the same stuff we have done for ages.2, It helps you with levelling with someone, getting them to 90 and levelling to 100 together and making them used to the game and have gold etc for alts, teach them. 3, Alts with raids and getting a new character to 100 for progression can be helpful for guilds struggling on progress (cause they dont have this or that) 4, Honestly - my self I don't like levelling I think it just cuts the levelling for me and lets me go to 100 without me having a problem.5, It may give you a free 90 and all that stuff, but people that use it and are not a veteran don't get professions (meaning they dont play with AH and all that)Cons:1) Yes, more noobs >_< and LFR yesyesyes.2) Professions that are near maxed? That does make it more useless to put items to level 1-600 on the AH (in a way)3) Cutting out gameplay for newer players (making more noobs)I might add some other stuff if people wish to reply some - I can't think of them ATM, but I do wish they put a max on how much free 90's for a new account or a veteran too, just to lower the chances of crazy people making 100 toons that are 90. I also wish that there might be a starting area for new 90's giving them a basic run through. (something like it? Stop the noobs). Might be hard but worth a try.
