Clarifications on Account-Wide Reputations in Tides of Vengeance

The first Battle for Azeroth major patch,
Tides of Vengeance
, has been announced today. With many new exciting announcements, one of the biggest ones was a quality of life improvement for reputations.
They've announced that starting in Tides of Vengeance, reputation achievements like
100 Exalted Reputations
will have their progress account-wide, meaning you will no longer lose progress if you reach exalted with a particular faction on a different character. The announcement caused some confusion among players, making Blizzard head to the forums to clarify the upcoming changes.
