There are a new group of pets available with the same listed source. These 'slimy' pets all have the same source - the 'Slimy Cocoon'. Apart from all sharing the same source, these pets share a similar model theme. This currently does not show up properly on the Wowhead model viewer. Every pet has a blue appearance, with a particle aura. There is also an achievement tied to obtaining one of these pets, From The Belly Of The Jelly.

How to Obtain

Make sure you have done Nazjatar up until you have unlocked world quests.

Complete the quest A Curious Discovery / A Curious Discovery. This can be found at any of the waypoints listed below, in front of each Ravenous Slime. After completing this quest, you will receive one Prismatic Crystal, and you will now be able to pick up Prismatic Crystal, which are objects located throughout the zone.
Now, you feed the Ravenous Slime. You can feed all four at the same time. You do this by charming a critter using Prismatic Crystal, and bringing it back to a Ravenous Slime. You have an hour to do this. The critter can not be a water bound one (the fish critters).
Do this for five days total (in game, resets on daily quest reset), and the Slimy Cocoon will hatch into one of the battle pets. It seems to be random as to which one it is, and does not depend on what you feed the Ravenous Slime.

I have found Prismatic Crystal are mostly found near waterfalls and rivers. They look like the purple crystals from the Long Forgotten Hippogryph event, and are quite noticeable.

They are all cageable, and you can buy or sell them on the Auction House. You can also do this on multiple characters at once.

Looks like they are indeed random and can someone confirm that once you get a pet, you can no longer see the slimes to feed? I finished 3 today and 1 yesterday. I went to check if there was a new slime to feed for the one I looted yesterday and it wasn't there. If that's the case, you'll HAVE to do this on alts to be able to get them all without buying any.

You can also get the same one even if you have it. Now, I did loot the three before learning them so perhaps if you have it learned, you won't get a dupe. Someone will need to confirm this.

@TheSwauzz: When feeding Ravenous Slime for the fifth day and then loot the cocoon, it will reset again at server reset. You can then do it over again (on the same character). Also according to Kaerei's comment, it seems that you won't lose any progress if you can't finish before the reset.
