You can get Yellowed Treasure Map by killing Freehold pirates.
Map will give you some clues on where to find the treasure chest, you can only see it if you have found the map.
Map clues:

Chest is located in Tiragarde Sound The Wailing Tideway on Kul Tiras Isle at 90.50 75.51.
You can find it near the shipwreck along the shore east of Freehold.

Yellowed Treasure Map drops from pirates at Freehold Island.
Drop rate isnt big enough, so it takes time to find the map.
I killed mobs near the ring of booty spot and spend around 5 minutes to get it.
After looting the map chest mark will be visible on minimap, if get close.

Just as a heads up, if you find the map, the treasure will show up on your mini map. I was worried I would spend some time digging, but if you get the general area you should be okay.

Once you find the treasure chest it contains:
180-210g, 10-25 war resources, 1-2 random greys.

The map did not disappear from my inventory after I looted the chest.
Does it mean that we can loot this chest several times?
If yes, is it conditioned by presence of this map in our inventory, or we can safely delete it?

Looks like Horde player can't see it....or worst, I'm bugged.
I have the map and i'm in the place where I have seen in a video and I can't see the chest.
tried to relog too but it didn't work,

Coordinates: 55.0, 46.1 - Soggy Treasure Map - Underwater, rather central to the map, not far from shore
Coordinates: 90.6, 75.6 - Yellowed Treasure Map - The Wailing Tideway - Near the Shipwreck Cave, east of the Freehold, far right of the map on the beach
Coordinates: 29.3, 25.3 - Fading Treasure Map - Krakenbane Cove, west of the Anglepoint Wharf on a small island
Coordinates: 49.0, 37.7 - Singed Treasure Map - Fogcliff Strand, south on the beach of Norwington Estate

To get to the treasures, you must kill pirates in the Freehold. Farm all four treasure maps. Then you can go to the treasure chests and grab the treasure. :-)

Reading some of the comments here, I thought, perhaps misunderstanding directions given, that this was on the shoreline just east of the Freehold flight path. In fact, this is east of Freehold dungeon / Castaway Point flight path.

If you look at the map for Tiragarde Sound, there are two big islands east of the Castaway Point flight path. On the uppermost of these two islands, there are 4 ovalish objects on each corner of the island. This treasure is the in area by the lower right one.

Another way to find is that this is just north of Fowlmouth rare.

Also, there may be a small treasure chest in the middle of this island. Make sure to not mistake getting that one for getting this one. This one has special spiky bits around it on your mini map to signify its super specialness.

Don't forget to pick up the Castaway Point flight path if you haven't already.

Some of these comments are a little misleading - to find the treasure fly to Castaway Point and go down to the water. Follow the water North East past the Boss Pet Battle and you'll come across a rare called Foulmouth, he's a parrot and hes flying in a circle. By the time you reach the parrot and you have the yellowed treasure map in your bags, the chest will have made itself clear on your minimap.

Having trouble with the Fading Treasure Map. I've been out to the location three times and I still cannot see the treasure. Is it bugged? Is it Horde only (I'm on an alliance character). Do I have to do something else to make it appear?

Yellowed Treasure Map dropped for me from an Irontide Cutthroat after 20 kills.

(Don't worry about farming the map off the correct mobs, just stay in Freehold. I slaughtered most of their Inns/Bars ^.^)

Can't find the chest?
Check out the achievement: Treasures of Tiragarde Sound
I was unable to find the faded and singed map, but it turns out I had actually looted them previously.

if you want to see which chests you have looted, instead of looking up the Treasures of Tiragarde Sound achievement you can run this instead:

true = looted
false = not looted

After getting the achievement Treasures of Tiragarde Sound, the 4 maps remain in your bags - no need to keep them there, is it ?

So apparently you can only see the chests if you've found the map - but you don't have to have the map in your inventory. I had a couple maps in the bank since 8.1 and forgot all about them. I found one of this chest recently, despite that.
