The achievement Higher Dimensional Learning is the Legion version of the Wrath of the Lich King achievement Higher Learning.

To complete this achievement and unlock the item (Adept's Guide to Dimensional Rifting), you need to find the seven chapters of Beginner's Guide to Dimensional Rifting that are located in various spots in Azsuna.

As it turns out, another item can help you find these 7 chapters! Beginner's Guide to Dimensional Rifting can be purchased from Veridis Fallon for 500g upon reaching Revered reputation with the Court of Farondis faction.

Beginner's Guide to Dimensional Rifting has a 4 hour cooldown. Using it will teleport you to a random spawn point for a chapter of the book. In all likelihood these will have long spawn times, and the destination will not have the chapter you need - hence the following flavour text:

"This seven step tome can be mastered in one week provided all the knowledge is there.
*Disclaimer, the knowledge is rarely there."

Similar to the beginner's guide, this instantly teleports you to certain locations on different days. So far I've seen:

Monday - 59.20, 53.82 in Val'sharah - Slightly North-East of the Temple of Elune flightmaster.
Tuesday - 50, 66 in Suramar (Court of Stars/Concourse of Destiny) - I think this is where the entrance to the raid will be once you cross the bridge but the door is currently closed, lots of mean elites there.
Wednesday - 50, 79 in Azsuna (Isle of the Watchers) - There's a friendly Great Eagle up here, I think they're the Hunter only flight paths? Not totally sure.
Thursday - 49.91, 59.65 in Highmountain - Overlooking Thundertotem on the water wheel.
Friday - 54.47, 61.08 in Stormheim - Overlooking Talonrest on some rocks.

Weekends currently produce the error "Unknown phenomenon is preventing a connection to the leyline" and it refuses to work, spooky!

I just got this item from the achievement and when I use it I get an error message that says "Unknown phenomenon is preventing a connection to the Leyline." I've tried using it in Dalaran, Suramar and Aszuna and I got the same message everywhere.

What's that about?

4 hour cooldown, seems to teleport you to a random "attuned spot" in broken isles. So far i can confirm the Garden of the Moon in Val'Sharah as one of the options.

Was hoping for something a bit more substantial as a reward for doing the achievement. This seems like a rather pointless item to have since it is a random teleport on a four hour cooldown.

The teleports are not random. Just like the Beginner's Guide to Dimensional Rifting, this item will teleport you to a different location that changes each day at midnight. The locations are all over the Broken Isles.

Monday - Val'shara (59.20, 53.82) - Near the Temple of Elune
Tuesday - Suramar (50.62, 66.20) - The middle of the city
Wednesday - Azsuna (35.10, 71.26) - On the Isle of Watchers
Thursday - Highmountain (49.92, 59.65) - Just east of Thunder Totem
Friday - Stormheim (54.47, 61.08) - Near Talonrest
Saturday - Broken Shore (61.9, 29.8) - Wrynfall, at edge of Tomb of Sargeras (thanks Ditsy)
Sunday - Argus (Antoran Wastes, 65.31, 43.23) above the fel lake, in front of the Vindicaar. Thanks Morfla

Saturday and Sunday used to give the error message "Unknown phenomenon is preventing a connection to the Leyline". They became active as the new zones were introduced during the expansion.

Have you guys even considered that the game isn't static but ever changing, and this item might be useful say...after patch 7.2? There may be nothing there now, but there may be in the future. I'm hanging on to mine.

i have the adept dimensional rifting. When I use it and get to it's destination, what am I supposed to be looking for? Nothing is ever there like to was for the beginners guide

It's Monday evening and I just waited over an hour for the book to spawn. No idea when it despawned, but by the timer on the Adept's Guide that teleports you, I waited 1hr5min before I left to walk the dog. Anyone have a guess about the spawn intervals?

Edit: It's Tuesday. I teleported, took a step back, and sat. It's been two freaking hours, per my Adept's Guide countdown timer. Has anyone actually ever seen one of the books?

The Wednesday target location, 50.75, 79.50 on the Isle of the Watchers, is close to a Great eagle and its nest. Don't know if this is one of the optional hunter flight points or not. Any hunters out there?

Twice in this post, this Adept's Guide to Dimensional Rifting, has been referred to as a "Toy". But is just a Soulbound item, that personally I think would be great as a Toy, then my other Alt's can use it to teleport around the Isles. But alas it is not. Anyways, was this a mistake carried over from the PTR? Also I really hope that the next stage of it does unravel as a part of 7.2, I had fun finding the seven Beginner's Guides over the last week, just to get it. It would be annoying if it just ended here.....

Alright, a few things about the two guides.

-The Adept's guide is a regular item, just like the Beginner's guide. You will need to keep it in your bags, it is not a toy.
-The Beginner's guide is NOT REQUIRED once you obtain the Adept's guide. You can sell it for the 125 gold with no issues.
-The Adept's guide, unlike the Beginner's guide, can be used anywhere in the Broken Isles, not just Azsuna. It will also teleport you to any other zone in the Isles, not just the one you are currently in. I got teleported from Valsharah, to an overlook above Thunder Totem in Highmountain.

I can think of a practical use for this, if you have a group of coordinated players that all have the book and want to do something each day together.

If your group decides to do one mythic at the same time each day, no need for summons or waiting for everyone to travel from the 4 corners of the world, everyone just uses their book and they'll all end up at the same location near a dungeon, with a different dungeon to choose from each day.

Or could also be used in the same way with raiding if you raid on the appropriate day corresponding to the raid you'll be nearest upon using the book.

Useless is a relative term that can often be counteracted with a little bit of creative thought.

On Saturdays, the Adept's Guide to Dimensional Rifting now takes you to Wrynfall near the Tomb of Sargeras in Broken Shore.

As of Patch 7.2, this now goes to the Broken Shore on Saturday. Sunday still gives the error message.

This is just a theory, but I have an idea of what's with the error message on Sundays. As comments before mine have said, there was previously a similar error message on Saturdays. As of 7.2 (or 7.2.5, I am unsure) the error message no longer shows on Saturdays, and instead the item takes one to a specific spot on the Broken Shore. Given that information, I believe it is possible that the item will take one to a spot on Argus in 7.3 or later. I haven't investigated what's upcoming for Legion, so I don't know what zone(s) will specifically be opening up, but it's likely Sundays will take you to a zone currently unavailable.

Also, I've seen some confusion about whether or not this is the last book in the series. Given that I'm in no way affiliated with Blizzard and am not on the PTR, I don't know. However, I currently cannot find any achievements in game to suggest the series continues. That said, it's possible that an achievement will be added in a later patch, after Sunday stops showing the error message and leads somewhere. Maybe we'll have to collect 7 more books, then we'll unlock an item that teleports players around Argus depending on the day. Who knows, it might even continue after that. I suppose we'll all just have to wait and see.

This item teleports you to the Antoran Wastes on Argus when used on Sunday. Roughly at 66.29, 40.73

This item changed in 7.3. It can no longer be used in Dalaran and it can port you to Argus (which is strange as it says to areas only on the Broken Isles)

I made a quick macro to remind me where this will take me today. You could put the item in the macro as well and then cancel the cast if you don't want to go there. Or just check first.

So, just in case anyone is a complete idiot (like me), the Adept's Guide to Dimensional Rifting does not appear in your bag upon completing Higher Dimensional Learning. You will get mail from Archmage Mentithus Leytracker with the tome attached. I sat around for quite some time searching for an answer on Wowhead before checking my mailbox. u_u

If you like to collect handy transportation items, the fact that Adept's Guide to Dimensional Rifting cannot be used from Dalaran or other cities severely limits its usefulness. It can only be used in the Broken Isles or Argus.

The quickest way to use this is to go to Krasus' Landing in Dalaran and use the teleporter to The Vindicaar.

The item can be used once you are on The Vindicaar. This macro can be used to find out where it goes and also activate the item. Tks to meluksetich for the post.

I got the achievement then received the Adept's Guide to Dimensional Rifting but I have nothing see anything in the areas of Broke Isle. Can I sell or keep the Adept's Guide to Dimensional Rifting? I read these comments as they don't find anything like me. I think it is useless.

I'm a little bit flabbergasted at the recent negative comments regarding this item. Especially now does this item shine, because we are more than capable soloing Legion. Use any main city teleport (enough available) and then the Azsuna portal to use it (doesn't change the fact it should be usable anywhere and be a toy).

Mentioned a few times, I'll repeat the usefulness of this item for raid soloing purposes, which is conveniently in four subsequent days. I've excluded Trial of Valor (Friday) as it's both impractical and inefficient to solo, and excluded Wednesday and Thursday as this teleports to dungeons rather than raids.

Saturday: Tomb of Sargeras (Wrynnfall, Broken Shore)
Sunday: Antorus, the Burning Throne (Fel Lake, Antoran Wastes)
Monday: The Emerald Nightmare (Temple of Elune, Val'sharah)
Tuesday: The Nighthold (Suramar City, Suramar)
