Dealing with Weekly Affixes as a Holy Paladin

Holy Paladins have many different tools to deal with Dungeon affixes and to help their group with them. You can check a couple of highlights from the most impactful affixes that affect Holy Paladin.

Contrary to popular belief Bursting is mainly a dps affix. They control how many stacks you get. However, you do have a lot of tools at you disposal to deal with unexpectedly high stacks.

Beacon of Virtue is not recommended, but it can help a lot for Bursting. But other than that you can then also use Cleanse and Divine Shield yourself. Make sure to also use Blessing of Sacrifice liberally. Additionally, Divine Toll and Daybreak are also incredibly good at healing through Bursting stacks.

You should simply use Cleanse as often as you can for Afflicted. You need Improved Cleanse for this affix as Afflicted cannot be dispelled with a magic dispel. Your other group members might need to help out when multiple spawn.

You can also heal them if needed, but this should be largely unnecessary.

You can use Rebuke to kick the cast from Incorporeal. Other than that you can also use Repentance and Turn Evil to control Incorporeal, but giving up Blinding Light for Repentance might be too steep a cost. They can also simpy be stunned.

Hammer of Justice is very useful for stunning Spitefuls and should be used extensively both for yourself and to help your group members that get fixated. Since Spitefuls deal physical damage, it is possible to negate a lot of their damage because we are plate and shield wearers and therefore have a high amount of armor, but on higher keys they will do a lot of damage still.

Blessing of Protection and Divine Shield are also good in a clutch and lets you ignore them for a while.

During Raging is a great time to use Blessing of Sacrifice on the tank if they need it.
Besides that there is not much you can do to help with Raging as we do not have a Soothe to dispel it with.

For Entangling you can use Blessing of Freedom for every single one. You can either use it on yourself or another player if you're feeling helpful.

Holy Paladin Viability In Mythic+

Holy Paladin has proven to not be nearly as strong this season as it was last season. The nerfs we received in the dying days of Season 2 have been excessive and extremely detrimental to out performance in keys. Our healing feels weak and unimpactful, and we have to work much harder than other healers to achieve the same healing output.

As for our damage, we are also behind the curve. We have to play dps trinkets to do near competitive dps, which only further hurts our healing output. On top of this we still suffer from the kiss/curse fact that our healing cooldowns and damage cooldowns are to a major extend the same cooldowns.

Holy Paladin is weak and in a poor spot for pushing high keys this season, but will still be completely fine for healing non cutting edge keys.

While Blessing of Sacrifice has been nerfed to 20%, when we combine it with Echoing Blessings it still becomes a 32% damage reduction, and with it being on a 1 minute cooldown, the 12 second duration of 32% damage and 8 extra seconds of 15% damage reduction is still a great external.

Holy Paladin Mythic+ Utility

Blinding Light, Hammer of Justice and Rebuke

All three of these spells are very powerful for stopping dangerous casts and you should make heavy use of them all. Blinding Light can be used to stop multiple mobs casting at once, but it does break as soon as the mobs take damage. Hammer of Justice, like Rebuke, is extremely good at stopping specific mob casts. Combined with Fist of Justice, Hammer of Justice also becomes a much shorter cooldown.

Blessing of Sacrifice, Blessing of Protection and Blessing of Freedom

Your group is clearly Blessed to have a Holy Paladin.

Blessing of Protection can be used in a lot of different ways. One of the main uses of this is to remove certain debuffs, like deadly bleeds or other physical debuffs from an ally. However always keep in mind that the person you cast it on loses all aggro for the duration of the effect. This means that it should never be cast on the tank unless the tank themself ask for it or if agreed to beforehand. The fact that Blessing of Protection causes aggro loss can also be used to your advantage as using it on a dps early in a pull will allow them to go all out on dealing damage without worrying about overaggroing.

Blessing of Sacrifice combined with Sacrifice of the Just and Echoing Blessings becomes a 32% damage reduction external on a 1 minute cooldown. Needless to say this is incredibly poweful.

Blessing of Freedom is used to break roots and slows on your allies when needed. It can be lifesaving when used correctly.

Avenging Wrath, Divine Toll, Daybreak, and Blessing of Summer

Avenging Wrath, Divine Toll, and Daybreak can be used as both damage and healing cooldowns. This makes Holy Paladin a very versatile healer in Mythic+, and this balance of knowing when you need to heal and when you a free to deal damage is essential to mastering your Holy Paladin in a Mythic+ setting. The only real way to learn when it is okay to use these for damage is simply to play the game and get a feel for the damage patterns in each dungeon and scenario.

Blessing of Summer is a talent that cycles through four different buffs which can be very strong when used properly.
Blessing of Summer is the most important of the four, and should be used on dps players when they have cooldowns ready. This will give our damage throughput a nice boost. Keep in mind that it does not work with pet damage, so refrain from using it on specs like Unholy Death Knights and Beast Master Hunters. The best specs to use it on are Arcane Mages, Devastation Evokers, Ret Paladins, Fire Mages, Warriors, or Druids with their cooldowns. But if you do not care to track when their cooldowns are ready then casting it on something like Enhancement Shaman or Frost Death Knights is never wrong.
Blessing of Autumn can be used on yourself or anyone, simply grants 30% faster cooldown recovery for 30 seconds.
Blessing of Winter should simply be cast on yourself, gives 10% mana back over 30 seconds.
Blessing of Spring can just be cast on yourself. Alternatively it can be cast on a target that requires a lot of healing such as the tank.

I think you should include repentance as a utility, it is very useful for weeks where add control is important. It is as effective as a freezing trap, poly, etc. Otherwise, this guide looks good!

Another suggestion, I would include a side note about bestow faith. Casting bestow faith on a target and then casting beacon of virtue right before it goes off is a very effective way to get some crazy burst healing across your group, and is especially nice on weeks where high movement is required.

There's no reason for you guys to put the exact same build in all the m+ dungeon section, just put a "Every build is the same for every dungeon" instead and link a build to that.

I'm trying to figure out why this article gives 8 Mythic+ talent recommendations when players are limited to 7 total talent configurations. And does that mean the author assumes a player won't raid or PvP, so no talent slots need to be reserved for those activities? I depend on Wowhead articles for concise, clear, quick advice and the multiple configurations presented here are anything but

Just play range and mana isn't a issue. Mobility also not.
