Going to have holy as offspec, a few quick questions.

My paladin is currently level 78, I have duel spec bought but I have not acutally used it yet. I plan on using holy as my offspec. But I've never actually played my pally as holy...not even once. So I have a few basic questions about the spec before the start looking at gear.
-How large a mana pool would I be expected to have for healing heroics?
-How much SP is enough to start healing heroics?
-How bad is it to level wearing cloth caster gear instead of plate?
If someone could throw in a cookie cutter healing build that would be awesome too. Thanks.

There's
This
thread that's a decent general guide. Aside from the fact that the gemmig advise is patently incorrect (int > spellpower unless it's for meta requirements). Some extremely rough numbers would be around 12k mana & 1.2k SP will probably be enough to tide you over in heroics assuming your tank is good your groups take things slowly. Finally, broadly speaking levelling as holy is ill advised as you can aoe grind more efficianly as prot or single target nuke faster as ret. In 5 mans though cloth is acceptable although often not itemized particularly well.
12k mana is ^&*!ing horrible for a holy paladin, look for a figure more around 15k mana and 1.4k sp. That means you have ornate saronite some chants and a rep reward here and there. okiekuma please don't pass on horrible info. Mind you the stick was a good starting point.

For spec try this.
Note the two in BoM is for when you in heroics and may not have the ret pally to give it out. For Raiding drop it for 2 more in Heart of The Crusader.
read this
guide
for pre entry heroic gear w/ what enchants to get.
Oh for crying out loud. Were did you find that spec? Whoever gave it to you kill them.
Well no it's not really that bad but it's a video game he'll just resurrect himself.
Heart of the Crusader > Imp Judgements. Doesn't matter what you do or where you do it (AS A HOLY PALADIN).
The only viable reason to chose imp.judgements in a PvE holy build is when you are 100% sure you'll be raiding with a ret paladin that will buff imp. BoM.
Why?
You probably wont be judging more than every 20 seconds (you're at entry level you dont need to waste more GCDs than necessary). Sometimes you wont be judging more than once every minute to keep JotP up. Now tell me where do you need the 2 seconds off of judgement before 2% crit for your entire group?

For Dallies o.O
Your kidding right... You would honestly run a sub par set up for the extra 50dps while doing dailies. I really can't find a kind way to say this... WHAT THE! glyph of holy shock would be a better option for dailies even at least it provides some burst.

For Dallies o.O
Now slasher seems to be doped up on caffeine today but as i said if you're gonna have imp judgements you should be dropping imp BoM not heart of the crusader. And the only time this is a viable reason is when you are 100% sure you will always be raiding with a ret paladin that will buff it instead.

Not sure why someone is giving you advice, telling you to spec into Ret build for the BoM buff. Your a healer, you can still give pally buffs, but your concern is heals and NOT DPS. Wasting talent points in the ret tree will equal a fail healer, which means nobody likes you and you won't be able to find a group or progress.

'Wasting' talent points in the ret tree?
Actually, you're right. I'd much rather resist diseases 30% of the time that I can dispel anyways then have 8% more crit chance.
./sarcasm.
You don't spec into ret specifically for the BoM talent. Your choices for filler points to the incredibly useful talents in ret at that point are Parry chance as a healer or shorter judgement cooldowns (I can waste more GCD's and mana not healing, great!). If you take none of these, you lose a large amount of crit by not going down the ret tree. Out of parry, shorter cooldowns on a damaging spell, or a slight buff to a slight buff, one of those is clearly the best option for a healer.
Edit: Numerous edits because I didn't proofread this when I wrote it and apparently I can't spell.
