I havent yet obtained everything on the list but have leveled up Elemental LW to get the gloves, Pants and Helm. I unfortunately left it quite late on in the character leveling to be able to do long high experience quest lines, but the gear listed should be mostly the best i can obtain. Oh and i don't really have acess to BoA items even though i realize the daggers+swords+shoulders+PvP trinket (may) be better alternatives.
I've looked at numerous rogue guides for twinking but they aren't always 100% up-to-date and from what i can gather, wowhead users generally provide excellent advice, so...
Looking for any input at all as to whether you think i should change any bits or bobs as regards the gear at all. Or the enchants for that matter. In quite a few slots i'm not sure what would be the "best" enchant/piece of gear...
Also there's the issue of hit rating, i know i get a large amount from the trinket, the ring and pants also give a bit so i shouuld be at 44 Hit rating right off the bat, but how much (at level 49) is the "yellow" cap, the poison cap and the actual white damage cap. Are these things i need to consider capping? (E.g.; Surefooted Enchant > +12 Agi).
Oh and as far as the scope goes, does anyone know if the level requirement is for the item level, or the level of the character applying it? can a scope be applied via trade screen like an enchant? - i ask becasue the Khorium scope is better than the Sniper variety :)
I'm also somewhat stuck on spec. Thus far i've played combat daggers/fists and its worked out well in the limited amount of pvp i've done, but i've ben reading up on the sub tree and that looks like the way to go... if anyone could provide a decent build with glyphs inclued i'd be much appreciated. I'll probably try out a few until i find the one which best suits me but i was thinking of breaking it into an ambush build, a mace/sword sub build (Hemo?) and some form of combat build. I tend to favour daggers over swords/maces but i don't mind collecting numerous weps and seeing where things go from there...
Oh and pvp as a rogue, i've faced loads of rogue opponents at 70 in TBC, and get the kind of tricks from watching a few vids. Would be ace if anyone could share tips or tricks and things like that :)
Would mouseover macro's for things like blind prove useful? i can already forsee issues of tab targetting blind :S
P.S. Please don't flame me for making a twink, not really what i'm after, plenty of other threads where you twink haters can go vent :)
P.P.S. Sorry about all the links i'm not exactly sure how to properly embed them yet.

First and foremost you weapons should be Shadowblade and Gut Ripper. Get the +20 Agility Enchant on both. I would also consider making the the Elemental LW pants that are BoP. I don't recall their name. And when you get the chance wowarmory Anlon. That is my friends character, but he is inactive.

Although if you can afford Mongoose go for that. Here is my friends character sheet.

Edited original post, the Elemental pants were in there but as a spell to create as opposed to the item itself :)
And just a quick one, apart from the fact that its epic, why use a Gut Ripper? i'm looking for effectiveness, not sparkiliness on my twink :) unless ofc gur ripper is indeed the best weapon...
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=2164
versus
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=19547
looks to me that the latter is a winner, the stats will make up the slightly higher top end damage on the gut ripper whilst adding some crit + AP etc... maybe use the first one as an opener with + wep dmg, and the proc could be a blind/gouge breaker at rather inconvenient times, will actually have to test this tho', having not had much experience at this bracket it may be that stuff dies to fast for bleed CC breaks to be an issue. Other than pally/warrior twinks ofc (plate wearers - bleed em dry!).
Speaking of which would a + wep dmg enchant on a slow dagger be a good idea for ambush/backstabbing spec... switched out with a macro after the opener to something with +agi/mongoose ofc. (what would such a wep swap macro look like?)
Also editted in the +20 agi chant, didnt realise they were able to be put on the 1handers :)
Thanks for the armory link, some things i cant get as i'm alliance e.g. mark of the guard captain but imo the new engi trinket is better anyway... neck is definately better but horde only sadly. Pretty close to what i'm aiming for, but hoping for some changes, what with the leg patch removal from <60's the LW legs seem better now.

I know for a fact that Gut Ripper procs a ton. I used 2 of them when I leveled with my Rogue. And my friend had no problem with his Gut Ripper. But I guess it comes down to personal preference.

Build-wise, this is kinda the basis of most builds:
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#f0xZZebfbh0db
The increased stealth and detection means you won't be at the mercy of other rogues. Other builds are viable, just lose to other stealthies with improved stealth mechanics.
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#fZGxV000E0MZe0f:hk
is a nifty combat build that could work. You might not be found, but you won't be able to find other rogues as well. On the other hand, Blade Twisting can free up a weapon to use mind-numbing poison instead of crippling. Hammer of the Northern Winds is fast, but has high dps, making mace specialization a decent choice. Also, it'll help beat through plate classes, a problem you'll have. Personally, I like the idea of having Riposte, but it is unpopular.

Going well with the armour, chants and weps so far... got most of it except the chest (damn RNG+ low DR's).
The issue i'm haiving is spec. So basically i looked at the ones you put up but you made them for a level 39 as opposed to a level 49 which got me a lil confused ^^ but your point about being found/not being found & finiding other stealthers is a good one =) wanna have every edge as possible, especially vs other twinkles.
So i came up with 2x Builds, one of them is a "bleed build", and the other focuses on stuning + hemo to build CP's. (Both are Sub)
Bleed Build:
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#f0xbZZcrfbhhdbNz:afZV
Hemo:
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#fZZcrfbhhddAzV:dZV
Note, the Hemo build would be done with HotNW
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=810
and
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=2163
, more poison procs from a fast OH and a slow MH for "higher" hemo numbers (though i'm a shade confused by the posts saying its normalised... what exactly does that mean?)
Bleed build is more of a concept than an actually tested thing. More of an "anti-plate" idea as opposed to anything else, the idea being, get your bleeds on, then scram :) - would work vs other rogues aswell...
Also i'm not really sure what poisons i should be using for the run of the mill BG... guessing wound and crippling...
Aslo thinking of leveling engi for the bombs...

Sorry about the confusion, the build that requires level 39 is a baseline. It lowers cooldowns and has many tools that make rogues what they are in pvp. The other build requires level 49 and has less of those tools, but makes up for it in killing power (bonuses to SS, Mace Spec, Precision, etc).
Your Hemo build is good, but lacks Relentless Strikes. The biggest issue that rogues have in lower level categories is additional combo points and energy regeneration. Relentless Strikes does wonders for that. Also, while Initiative is good, the points can be spent better elsewehere. I would likely prefer Cheat Death to Master of Subtlety, especially against some of the heavy burst classes in your category like Enhancement Shamans and Retribution Paladins. Thus, the build looks more like
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#fZZebfbh0ddVzA:dZV
. I'd love to have a place for Ghostly Strike (great utility, good damage) but points are sparse-ish, perhaps from Deadliness.
Glyphs to use would probably be Hemo and Evasion/Eviscerate/Gouge/Crippling Poison. Hammer of the Northern Wind is good in terms of DPS and effect (I love the effect) but the speed leaves something to be desired. If you have an 80, pick up the
Badge of Heroism Heirloom Sword
. Stats should be 35dps (78-117) with 6ap, 6 stamina, and 8 crit rating. The dps/effect might be better on the Hammer, but the 2.8 weapon speed on the Sacred Charge is great.

Sorry for the "bump". Hopefully this actually replies, 4 failed attempts in the last 24 hrs...
Anyway thankyou Clinch and Maelwys for your input. I've actually had some 1st hand experience now and can put into practise what advice has been offered.
I'm sticking with Master of Subelty > Cheat death as i can pretty much finish people off in the way in which Clinch described; premed > ambush > hemo > Evis.
I also now understand why you said earlier that the lvl 40 epic dagger was BiS MH slot :) high top end dmg, good proc effect :)
I went for a hemo build with points in imp ambush. This is where part of my problem lies. First off as i said earlier i've no access to BoA items (lack of an 80 on the server) so i'm stuck with "normal" gear so far... Anyhow, Hemo is better with a slow wep so i've read... but i obviously need a dagger in MH to open with ambush.
I'd love someone to expalin/show/link a macro which binds certain weps to moves, as i understand it, changing weps takes 0 seconds, doesnt affect GCD and can have a large impact upon gameplay.
So basically i'm asking for a macro which binds a wep (in this case dagger to MH) with ambush. It would also be awesome to have the same for backstab, so taht i can not have to worry about what weps i've got equipped and they will auto change in combat.
For hemo i'd like to have my slowest wep up, Thrash Blade... simply fpr higher hemo numbers. Spending so much time/effort in this twink i really want to juice it for everything its worth.
Speaking of which, it may seem like a very minor thing, with a few dps here and few dps there, but its the small difference that add up. So i was also wondering if it is possible to equip certain weps for Garotte opener & rupture mid-fight. These are both affected by AP so having a stats based wep > proc based seems to be the right aim here.
This may all seem rather pedantic, bu i wanna learn every trick in the book (like ambush>vanish>sap style macro's) to gain the edge, especially over other twinks.
i realize this means i'll likely have to apply poisons to all of the weps in my inventory and get muultiple enchants, but this doesnt bother me too much :)
Oh and for the macro's is it possible all in press of one key to eqip dagger, cast ambush, equip sword, or another example. Equip stats wep > garotte > rupture > equip sword. basically to end all "openers" or bleed effects with switching back my normal MH + OH combo.
edit; P.S. Can you macro premed into every opener, it doesn't take a GCD and would just basically save an extra click :) ta!

On premed?
/cast Premediation
/cast
Do it for every opener. As for the weapon switching macros, I've always been horrific at it. I know you want to equip an item to a slot by slot number rather than simply /equip though. As far as heirloom items go, you could make a Death Knight for an easy level 80 character if you were so inclined to do so. Heirloom weapons, in my opinion, are the way to go in most cases.
