There are two options in PvP:
1.Kill faster the oponent (PvE gear allowed),
2.Survive longer than the oponent (PvP gear required).
mainly this... also, FYI, its easier to survive with pvp gear then its to kill someone using pve gear, so yes, pvp gear is really pvp gear, not that you really need it to pvp, just that you will do better with it.. in the end, what really mathers is skill.

If you think PvE gear is better then PvP gear for PvP, just have a PvP geared player of the same class duel one in eqivalent PvE gear. Unless the class is a rogue or a mage, the PvP geared one will always come out on top, barring skill.

how powerful is resilience? it doesnt really seems to stop a lot of critc does it? i stack it up to 400 but still die of enemy crits T_T
400 is not a lot. And crits will still happen, but with more resil it will be less and less hard per crit.
Resil doesnt make you unkillable.

Resilience kicks in when you arent in control of your actions.
When you are feared/stunned/kited, you are left alone with your HP and resi.
Depending on the enviroment, class, and spec, you may need between 600 - 1100 to perform.
I've seen resto shammies wearing 1k+ (they are the most vulnerable to warriors), and warriors with 500 or even less still perform decently.
Though in arena i can tell who's wearing how much depending on how dramatically my crit rate drops on them, and people with 500 or below doesnt really stand a chance, while healer comps with 900 and up are nearly impossible to kill unless we setup a very solid los/cc combo and i win the RNG lottery.
So yeah, pvp gear is good for pvp but dont overgimp yourself too much while climbing the resilience race, you still need to perform your role.

As a Tankadin I use my tanking gear for PvP and whenever I'm in a 1v1 I win. Only problem is my partner dies way too often and I get stuck in 2v1's. I'm facing PvP geared players and consistantly killing them. The 22dodge/16parry/16block + 30% block for holy shield and 30% block when redoubt procs (fairly often in PvP) are very helpful in staying alive. SoV/JoL vs stealthers. SoL/JoL vs the rest. Divine Plea as well. I don't even have to use bubble or heal at all.
Of course I'm not anywhere near the upper levels, only been doing arena for a few days.
