Just wanting to know if I'm doing the rotation right, or if I'm undergeared. Pulling max 2800 DPS in 25mans.
From what I've seen, the rotation goes like this, right?
1. Mind Blast -> Mind Flay (three ticks) -> SW: Death (gets
Shadow Weaving
to full 5 stacks)
2. -> Vamp. Touch -> SW: Pain -> Devouring Plague
3. Mind Blast -> Mind Flay -> Re-Apply Dev. Plague and Vamp. Touch when needed
-Re-Apply SW: Pain when my
Illustration of the Dragon Soul
reaches 10 stacks.
Also, when I've got things procced like
Lightweave Embroidery
, I re-apply all DoT's.
So....am i doin it rite, guise?

Trinkets and Procs will not base on damage refreshed by SW:P. You cast it once for a boss fight, and thats it, or...thats how I think it works.

There's no need for you to refresh DoTs when you gain a Spellpower buff; MF with P&S will automatically refresh the DoT for the new Spellpower value. However, P&S does not refresh DoTs for percentage-based changes, including personal crit buffs from Shadowform - for example, any spellpower trinket/buff (from Illustration, or an On Use: trinket) does not require a DoT "hard" refresh; however, the crit component of Wild Magic Potions, Loatheb Spores, Malygos Sparks, and Thaddius Polarity Charges would require a "hard" refresh.
So, tl;dr, I don't need to recast SW: Pain when I get a Trinket/Proc that gives +SP?
I assumed I had to, seeing as it works that way with Shadow Weaving.

Looking to talents and spells... Assuming hit capped.
Start
PW:S
, then i would:
1.-
SW:P
(triggers
Twisted Faith
&
Misery
, and 1/5
Shadow Weaving
)
2.-
MF
(then 4/5
SW
)
3.-
SW:D
(then 5/5
SW
; chance
iSpiTap
)
...
VT
,
MB
,
DP
...
Then reapply/burn every CD.
MF
is the filler.

Why do you start with DP and not with SW:P?
I get that this is to have SW:P work with the full Shadow Weaving buff but since it is re-applied by MF anyway where is the point? Why not cast it first and have it updated to max SW automatically by MF?
Wouldn't it make more sense to cast DP later (after SW has 5/5) since it is not automatically updated?

If you're not sure between whether to use Mind Flay or SW:Death. If you have less than 2 seconds on Mind Blast, go for SW:Death, if you have 2 or more seconds left on Mind Blast, go Mind Flay. That way you'll get the most DPS out of both. Regardless the SW:Death cooldown. (although it's obviously not an option when the cooldown is up, but that shouldn't be :))

Well, I reworked my rotation a bit, using SW: Death when there's only a little bit of CD left on MB, and now I hit 2900 DPS by myself :) (training dummy in IF)

I do MB>MF>SW:D to get up shadow weaving
Then i cast SW:P and DP
And hit my macro which casts; MF>VT>MB>MF>MF>MB (this makes sure that VT is kept up and MB is used on every CD). I also keep up DP casting it in between casts of the macro

How i open on a boss fight(im not fussy about trash) is VT -> DP -> MF -> MF -> MF -> SW:P. Now im no theorycrafter but basic logic dictates that this means my 2 major dots will be ticking for those... 2.6 seconds and that my SW:p will be ticking for max damage.
This also gives whoever you are raiding with a chance to apply their debuffs which affect pain(heart of the crusader,improved scorch and imp shadow bolt ). Also the lock curse(CoShadow i believe) isn't always prio for our 1 button spamming shadow friends so hopefully itll be up by the time your casting pain.
That's just how i do it and i seem to do alright always in 3-5 dps in 25 mans, though swp is never in my top 3 for damage done so maybe i have room for improvement, or perhaps its not meant to be =S I know VT and mind flay are always #1+2 so they are prio, #3 is generally MB. Sidetrack or what.
Tl;dr VT -> DP -> MF -> MF -> MF -> SW:P to open.
recast VT when its at 1s to go as its priority, DP is pretty easy to keep up tbh, you could probably even bind it to mindflay in a castsequence macro to use once the fights started. Then MB is non dot dps prio. Aside from that you cant go wrong. Also i dont put VE on until ive blown my 2nd MB of the fight, no point in jacking your dps for possibly 1k healing thats not what your there for.

Yea sorry my mistake in wording, each MF refers to a tick not a spellcast ^_^
