I feel like I'm just not getting it and getting discouraged! My problem is I feel like I struggle to hold aggro in heroics. I haven't really run any raids except 10 OS 1x and 25man OS 1x as OT....did just fine in that.
My Armory:
Malf
(pretty much got the best pre-raid gear I can get)
I don't know if I'm not gemmed correctly or what it is...perhaps I'm just not getting my rotation correctly
Single Target: PS, HB, IT, OB -> RPDUMP(FS) (KM proc = FS / Rime = HB)
Multi Target : DnD, PS, IT, Pest, (BT if needed), BBx2 -> RPDUMP(FS) (KM/Rime=HB)
PS, IT, BB, FS and HB are all macroed with RS
Any suggestions or glaring issues with the way i've gemmed?
Edit: I guess I need to tell you all I'm a "clicker" :( I haven't quite figured out how to be button smasher successfully yet.

errr, what? you have HB glyph and you PS/IT/Pest?
The reason for doing that would be b/c glyphed HB applies FF after HB does its damage, not before. Therefore that initial HB doesn't benefit from Glacier Rot or Tundra Stalker. Spreading FF via Pest first, then HB, does a better initial dmg/aggro spike. Might be worth it to tell your DPS to wait till they see HB before they start.

Um, No, that's a ridiculous reason to not start with HB. HB applies FF and PS is not necessary HB will spread all you need. Drop DnD, and then HB and BB the snot out of them, you shouldn't lose aggro at that point. PS/IT/Pest takes too long, and you have to single target for too long, just HB and get it over with. It has already been worked out that HB alone for a frost tank is better than PS/IT/Pest it's faster and gets aggro quicker.

One thing I have done, as a frost tank, is to macro HB with deatchill (if you took it). This can help with the problem of not having FF up for the initial HB.

just forget PS/IT/pest. DnD, HB, BB should give u plenty aoe aggro.
then just HB and BB whenever to keep aoe aggro.
PS/IT/pest gives way too low of an initial aggro, so that might be why ur getting pulled.

^^^ This.
DnD, Deathchill (if you have it and its not on cooldown), HB, BB, BT, BB
After that everything will be stuck to you.
For single target:
D&D, DC, HB, BS, BT, PS.
D&D is always the best threat generation you can get. You may do higher DPS with other rotations, but who cares? Your not there to dps, your there to pump out threat. Now after the initial opener don't really think about D&D too much as its difficult to fit it into a rotation, but if you see its available at any time while your doing your thing don't be afraid to drop it back down because it will be the best threat gen you can do.
I raid with some ret pally's that do over 5k dps, and half the time they don't even wait till the mobs get to me before they start dps'ing. They complain about every tank in our raid except for me. They say im the only competent tank we got cause i can hold the aoe aggro right off the bat.

You dont have to choose between D&D or RS. You can have both for single target.
D&D should always go down first regardless of how many things your going to be tanking. Theres no reason not to. Its the best threat gen your going to get with your runes, and at the start of the fight you don't have to worry about fitting it into a rotation. Plus its a great ability to pull with. Place it where you stand at one edge of it, and whatever your pulling at the other edge, and the entire time they are running to you your already building threat and still building threat when they get to you.

^^ This.
I was always wary of opening with D&D as a tank, because it felt "wierd" not having enough runes to do anything after HB and BB. Then I realized that Frost Fever and D&D were both working away generating threat like there's no tomorrow. I've run heroics with 3K dps before, and by the time my runes come back for a FS or OB, they're at about 70% of my total threat on the main target (which is always marked with skull).
Like others have said - open with D&D, HB (glyphed), and then BB. After that, just go nuts. If you use BB and HB every chance you get from that point on, nothing should be able to take threat from you (unless they're targetting something you're not).
