Did you do the dreadsteed quests or just pay the money for the riding skill? I'm really struggling to get groups together to go to Scholomance and level 64 already. I'd just go and buy the skill but would feel like I've missed out if i don't go there.

Do the quest, its a fun one.
I have no idea why blizz gave that mount away. Its not like you can't have a mount, but that one is awsome and you had to work for it

I did the quest because it was before the change to just buy it. I want my time back Blizz!
All in all it was good fun. I was on Illidan still back then, so plenty of people and a ton of irl friends. We also helped my buddy with his pally mount quest.
I really wish Blizzard would keep a lot of the pre-BC stuff more vanilla. They've taken out so much good content or just made it completely worthless.

I was enjoying things, then I couldn't get a group for Scholomance and solo'ing Sunken Temple for the voodoo feathers was hard, doable I think, but hard and I didn't have enough soul shards. I tried so many times to get a group for Scholomance, but in the end, I bought the skill and abandoned the quests. I've spent since I could go in to level 64 trying to get people but it just didn't seem to happen.
I know I've brought shame on to the Warlock traditions, and for that I am sorry. Perhaps one day Gul'dan and the circle will forgive me.
Thanks for the replies

You idiots are really suggesting he do the quest chain? LOL.
My advice to future warlocks: Skip the goddam chain. Buy it from your trainer. If you want to do the chain, level to 80, get some gold and THEN do it... Doing it on your level 60 lock is frustrating, expensive and highly unecessary.

The quest chain is long, but it's a fun experience and even better when you're not such a high level that it's easy and meaningless.
There's nothing as unique in a warlock experience than the Dreadsteed quest chain, and I recommend that anybody with the option do it.

Well , my experience i've done the quest i will tell you that if you have courage , do the quest , its a very nice mount but the quest is pain in the as(h)
Anyway if i had an other change i would buy the skill..
Oh.. and please don't tell the guy that its a fun experience.. for me was tragic..a "new" experience maybe but sure not fun at all..

I was actually enjoying what I had done so far. I also haven't done many instances as I've pretty much solo'd my way through the game so far so was looking forward to Scholomance, more so when I got the key, but I just couldn't get a group together and wanted to move to Outland to do some more questing.
I have plenty of courage, thankfully I had plenty of money too so just forked out for it in the end.
One day I'll go and solo it or perhaps join the next ranks of Locks coming though and give them a hand and save them hunting for groups for ages.

done it before the original naxx came out, and yes it was time consuming and drained a lot of my gold, but back then finding a group to scholo was easy, and my guild helped me in the dire maul quest. the final quest is awesome and i would recommend you do it, but your first priority is to hit 80 because the time you waste to do the chain you could use in hitting 2 or even 3 levels. and also you can solo scholo easy, and with a help of one of your friends you might actually do the last part in dire maul.

I never bothered with it. I dislike the warlock mounts, it's just a horse with a bit of fire - turn it into a roaring fire slightly resembling a horse rather that a horse slightly resembling a fire or give us a proper demon to ride. We are the masters of demons, casters of the dark side and all that and the best blizz can come up with is a horse with a tiny bit of fire and small wings?
It's way better than the ostrich surely?
