as you start instances, play what you know and enjoy. Marks and Survival are nearly on a par with each other, the dps wont be masses apart. sp pick a spc you like (even if it is BM) and play it, gear for it and enjoy

Just specc Survival, and go for heroics. (Your dps should be 1100+ for heroics imo, which is easy with survival and some quest blues). Get some bagdes, while you also obtain reputation with Wyrmrest for the Fang of Truth, which will make it easier to reach hit cap. When you get 40 Emblems of Heroism and buy Mirror of Truth. Dont buy the necklace first, the trinket are still one of the best ingame. Also get the Sin'Dorei Recurve Bow or that Sawn-Off Gun thingie from either Warsong Expedition or the Alliance equilant, it'll help a lot.
Then you can slowly start on VoA and OS, and when you're at 1800-2000 dps, then I would let you in Naxx, where you can slowly upgrade all your items.
meh.. to be honest his dps should be much more than 1,1k. i´m 77 lvl, playing as survi, and in instances doing even 2k dps on bosses. though my gear includes no green items.

I suggest you start using the Looking For Group (LFG) tool, which is "I" on your keyboard. Check the box for Damage and selection "Dungeon". Then it is a matter of choosing up to three dungeons.
Go to Wow-loot.com to review where to find appropriate Hunter upgrades and select those dungeons. You'll find several people already in guilds as you get into more and more runs. Discuss with them joining.
