I've macro'd this according to several different macros found on wowwiki and wowhead (incl this forum) and it is not doing what it is supposed to.
#showtooltip Presence of Mind
/Cast Presence of Mind
/Cast Arcane Power
/Cast fireball
Pretty straightforward, you'd think. But what happens when I press the button is this; It POM's the fireball alright, but doesn't cast AP before doing so. So i get POM/Fireball on first press and AP/Fireball on second press.
Tried switching position of POM/AP, tried adding /stopcasting and nothing gets it right. Any suggestions?
I am playing with a 57/3/11 build, just toying so far. Read this POM/Fireball somewhere as a suggested use of POM vs. using it for the last AB application.
you can't macro pom and AP together because when you use one, it triggers a... i think 10s cooldown automatically on the other.

Then why do I find so many macros using both? For example:
#showtooltip Pyroblast
/cast Presence of Mind
/cast Arcane Power
/use 13
/use 14
/cast Pyroblast
Exact copy --^ From wowwiki. I'm confused
Coz they aren't updated.
A recent patch changed it so that AP and POM can never stack.

/sigh.. wowwiki is notoriously outdated in some areas.. for instance, read the mage pvping strategies.. some of that stuff in there is dated from patch 1.x... that's VANILLA wow folks..

I personally prefer PoM-AB if you're heavy Arcane, boosts the important spells in your rotation and if you use it on the last stack then it's more damage than Fireball anyway.
Anyhow, the change that was mentioned was specifically implemented in patch 3.0.9
Arcane Power and Presence of Mind now share a category cooldown. Arcane Power causes a 15 second cooldown. Presence of Mind, once consumed, causes a 1.5 second cooldown.
So you can't stack PoM and AP at all, you have to do one after the other.
