What are folks DPS suppose to be to do 10 Man Ulduar?
the reason i ask is because i had a slightly undergeared friend go into Ulduar. they downed the leviathan, razorscale. he said he was only doing 2k dps and the highest dps according to their recount was 2.4k. its just weird to me that they went in there like that. sounds to me like the didnt have the firepower to down anything but they did.
im better geared and put out more dps but according to wow-heroes im no quite ready for ulduar. knowing my slightly undergeared and under dps'in friend got in there and survived makes me wonder if i should just start looking to get in there...
Any thoughts fellow hunters...?

Did they have recount appear for overall dps or the actual boss fight?
Recount has been buggy of late. For instance, I had a Warlock appear as a hunter last night, and randomly recording only parts of boss fights or even missing some boss fights altogether.
WWS would be a better way or keeping track of this, however it your pugging, it may not be a viable option as such.

I've been between 3-3.7K on our 10man runs currently. Like anything else, the group makeup will have a big influence on your numbers. Personally, it does for me when we're bringing in a new member who hasn't run the fights before while we're wiping as he's learning.

It's really hard to come up with any kind of definitive numbers for a benchmark / minimum DPS. It depends alot on the fight mechanics and what role you get put in. Anybody stuck on add duty and not full-out DPSing the heart on XT is going to be well below other DPS, etc.
That said, 2k is too low no matter what fight or role you are in.

Ulduar has been nerfed, a lot.
Also, Razor scale is a joke (it was quite fun when fireballs did 9k and the blue fire could actually kill).
Most fights are about knowing how to do it, not about gear. If the group is not brainless, it usually can win (not saying that a full blue will succeed, but a Naxx10/heroics/crafts will probably do).

Razorscale and The General appear to be the fights to which my dps drops. Razorscale due to the movement and constant add switching.
General on the other hand, well, MM being the mana hungry build that it is = a lot of time in viper.. still managed around 4k dps or so. Which to me seems low compared to what dps is like on other fights :(

high dps =/= downed bosses.
you could have 6k deeps, but unless you know what you're doing, its not going to help.
plus, Razorscale has no enrage, really, so you can do her for 10 mins if you'd like
