Sorry but I do have another, and it has bothered me for a while.
As a caster I always thought that higher-lvled gear with spell dmg should have either +dmg or +healing on it, depending on your chosen class's needs. Granted, you may do both but for the most part you only do one or the other. What I am suggesting is that the new equipment be one or the other and have the dmg/healing be higher than it would if it was split up.
For example, a belt that had +dmg/healing of 30 on it, could now be a healing belt of 40 or a dmg belt of 40.
You get what you need out of your items, rather than a mage having somewhere around +800 to healing spells from items.
what kind of mage has +800 healing, if any healing at all?
i want a resto specced mage
suggestion for wotlk: another class, please. i'm thinking necromancer (arcane/shadow dmg caster/summoner), another class that utilizes bows/guns as main damage (ranger? perhaps split hunters into beastmasters, and adding in rangers). you get the idea.
either that or add in 2/3 "specializations" for each class. you would be able to choose and switch between specs like you would for tailoring. a hunter can spec heavily into beastmastery (perhaps enabling him to tame beasts that you wouldnt normally be able to tame and are therefore stronger), marksman (giving him a lot more/better "shots", or marksman-related abilities/buffs), and survivalist (traps become very effective, perhaps being able to trap two mobs at once, etc. etc.). that and talent trees will, perhaps, reduce the number of cookie cutter builds.

Give the possibilty to dye your gear, so while the model looks the same, the colors are unique to you
They had that in Everquest, however, with EQ, most gear looked the same, if it was plate, regardless of the kind, it looked like plate. So color was the one way to really tell the difference between good geared players and crappy geared players, so when they came out with color dyes, you could never tell at a glance how good someone's gear was like you used to be able to do. That was my one major dislike with armor dye in EQ.
But with WoW I could see it as being a way of being more unique since every piece of gear doesn't look the same..

Druids need to be able to pick feral skins. Everyone gets to see yourself at different levels with different gear. I've been looking at teh same fat bear ass for 3 years. I need a change. Add some armor like ZA bears. Let me change the color of my fur.
