I am holy paladin myself, and I find it a blast, both in PvP(arena) and PvE/Raids.
Its easy to heal as a holydin in PvE, put Beacon on MT and start heal him/pple around him and hold Sacred Shield on him.
And grp up with a warrior in 2v2 and hit the AR bracket \o/

Holy Paladin is good in arena, but there is one problem and that is healing reduction.
Flash of light heals for lower than lesser healing wave by almost half, but at the same time uses half of the mana.
But here is the problem.
When a warrior does Mortal Strike, rogue does wound poison, etc., flash of light becomes even less; it is at that point where you have to rely on Holy Light and Holy Shock, thus netting with less mana.
Personally, I find Resto as more heals; cause my pala does less than other restos.
Paladins have greater mana efficency then shamans. They just don't have earthshield. A shaman healing a target will go out of mana before a paladins, especially when you factor in placing and replacing totems as well as interrupts and hexes. Yes I think a shaman can have more burst healing, but it certainly won't have as much efficency.

Thats not always true, if the shaman is being targeted himself he can have water shield restoring around 500 mana each hit.
Playing a resto shaman myself in a duel against a ret paladin i could pretty much get enough mana back from water shield to restore health to keep me alive indefinitely, using earth shield only when being the target of extra burst.
If hes healing somone else with earthshield his lesser healing waves healers for 20% more.

Most arena players know this and will ignore the shaman so as to not give it free watershield procs. That, or hit it so hard it has to use its earthshield just to survive.
