I cannot say that I have tried that spec but I really think you are missing out not taking VT in the Shadow tree. If you plan on raiding and so on, you should really get down to the later tier in Shadow to maximize your DPS.
Twisted Fate and Pain and Suffering is also major DPS boost.
Intellect/mana is not really that big of a problem and if you are really keen on keeping your crit high, socket/enchant your gear with it.
I would personally rather go with
this
or something like that
EDIT: As I said, I haven't tried a Shadow spec, going so deep into Disc. But if you really want to test it, do it! :)

What you sacrifice to get to the lower Discipline talents is more than what you're getting.
If you take a good look at the talents you're passing up, they give similar, if not better effects point for point than what you're getting from Discipline.
Power Infusion is barely helpful for Shadow since over half of the DPS comes from DoTs. Also, it's on a 2minute cooldown so it's barely useful for extra short bursts of DPS and it won't help in encounters that last more than 15 seconds.
In short:
Twisted Faith trumps Enlightenment and Focus Power.
Vampiric Touch trumps Power Infusion.
Mental Strength and Metal Agility are all but useless if you are geared correctly.
So in conclusion, go test this out if you want and you will most certainly find yourself with inferior DPS, both in longer fights and even in the short bursts you get with Power Infusion.
If I were a raid leader and I saw your talents like this, I'd kick you on the spot, no questions asked.

Any constructive criticism/advice would be much apreciated.
constructive, if simple, explanation as to why the build is inferior to the cookie cutter
takes one quote out of context and ignores the actual criticism
So, I'm guessing you weren't looking for constructive criticism, but rather validation.
SSDF.
(apologies to the regulars for a mildly trollish post - I've been leveling a priest recently and have learned a lot in this forum)

EDIT:
deleted unnecessary lashing out
If you want to test this out, go to a dummy and see if you can pull off 3-4 minutes of sustained DPS and how much. I can guarantee you'll see a huge drop off once Power Infusion is back on cooldown.
As far as fun goes, you're loosing a great spell without a cooldown for a situational spell with a 2 minute cooldown. In my mind that's less options overall which, in my mind, makes it less fun.
EDIT:
Dunsinane, I commend you. I'm still a bit lacking in the ability to read between the lines. Thanks for hitting the nail on the head.

Cryziz nice editing of your post, anyways,
Considering VT is usually your 2nd most damaging spell (pre 3.1 haven't tested out shadow since 3.1 came out). Not having it in a shadow priest build is like shooting yourself in the knee cap, sure you'll be able to walk but running is out of the option. That and the fact you can't replenish so you are probable losing more mana regen then you gain picking up the mana saver talent, and the fact Blizzard has stated "All raids, 10 and 25-mans, will be expected to have the replenishment buff for all fights". I'd do the math but I am to lazy atm. So to quote,
for added dps and mana.
your build add neither DPS or or Mana, maybe base mana but not not longevity.
I also agree with the 2 Prim's, I have not interest carrying dead weight through a raid I'd rather do it 6 people down the have to carry 6 people through.
Yes playing around with talents can be good, as long as you understand the game mechanics. In that build you was 15 talent points into skill that won't increase your DPS, and as a Shadow priest it's all about the DEPS dude, so if you want to do dps you gotta have talents that support it. We aren't trying to insult you Sch we are actually trying to help you
Anyways all that can and should be stated on this post has so it really should be locked at this point. Sorry for rambling

When you finally have a working knowledge of your classes talents and how they affect your spells and each other, you'll come right back to the
cookie cutter
on your own.
If what you really want is to maximize your dps, you'll eventually find that there is no better way. Blizzard made several important changes in 3.0 to encourage going deep into a single talent tree and discourage any sort of hybrid build for lack of effectiveness.
You'll find that Misery, Pain and Suffering, and Twist Faith all grant substantial increases to dps when you understand how they work. There is nothing in the Discipline tree that can make up for not having them.
So, take all the time you want to figure this out. I don't suggest open world mobs as an indicator of success since it's elites and bosses that we really care about. Once you've tried it out, you'll understand why every shadow priest uses this build.
