Should Cocaine Be Legal?

Your idea would also cost millions, if not billions, to implement. It would be extremely hard to find private funders, because what are they getting out of it? The taxpayers would be the ones shelling out the money for your proposed new legislation.
The money saved by causing the collapse of the black market and not having to fight the drug wars or patrol our borders as heavily would account for more than the initial investment costs. As far as finding investors? Uh... me. The profit margines would be HUGE. I'd do it in a heartbeat. Most logical investors would. The problem would be the reputation loss... MyTie's Cocaine. I really wouldn't want that stigma attatched to my name, because I really disagree with cocaine usage. Tough decision. However, if there is a profit to be made, which there would be, then there would be investors.

My main idea is:
If you want to do drugs and destroy your life, fine. However, be prepared to do it on the community's terms, and pay the community a chunk in taxes.
The secondary idea is:
A lack of enforcment of the community's drug policies will end up in the system's collapse.
Using those kinds of drugs destroys the lives of others as well. What if two parents get divorced, the dad gets custody of the kids, goes through hard times, and becomes a crack addict? The children shouldn't be exposed to that, but the mother can't sue for custody because what he's doing is legal.
Wow. Good argeument. Best I've heard so far. I'd say that you cannot legally have custory of children and be a consumer of cocaine at the same time, or within 5 years of eachother. That would have to be part of the new drug laws.

Yes, people who are crack addicts will get their crack... but with less crack available, LESS PEOPLE WILL BECOME CRACK ADDICTS, and that is the main point. We don't want more crack addicts running around.
The amount of cocaine floating around won't change someone's desire for it. If they want it, they will get it.
...
No. If I had some cocaine in front of me, I *might* sniff it up to try it out, even knowing the dangers. That's much different than if I had to search the back alleys of the city looking for someone to sell me something before I could get it.
Too many people think in black and white, and it really is kind of annoying.

Laihendi doesn't think alcohol
should
be legal, but because it has become a part of American culture, it's unrealistic to try to outlaw it.

Alcohol = Heroin > Cocaine > Tobacco > Marijuana
No
.
Nice, a two-dimensional argument to a one-dimensional statement. As soon as I figure how to draw a cube with those five words, I'll post it here.
(The above post is completely satirical. Pay it no mind.)
That was only my opinion. I have lived in and around drugs, and those are only my generalizations.

This is very ignorant of you. A cocaine dealer is not necessarily some shady wigger who lives in the slums and deals drugs through back alleys. They are just like you and me, regular people. I wouldn't doubt it if you had one in your neighbourhood. They are regular people with regular jobs and live regular lives. They don't need to be some run down person in order to sell drugs.
Did I say they'd be some shady wiggers? My point was simply that I'd have to look for cocaine to find cocaine, unlike if it was illegal. I know plenty of people who sell weed, but I don't know if anyone I know sells cocaine. I'd have to go out of my way to get it, which would be a lot different than if it was legal.

Hm, well you're right there. It would be harder for you to get it now, but if that's all that's stopping you, then that's your own problem.
No, its not. I'm sure there are plenty of people who would "try it out" if they didn't have to go way out of their way to do it. Imagine if, instead of underage kids wanting to try out alcohol, they all wanted to try out cocaine, and had crack parties? Or they tried out their dad's crack pipe?
No... just no.

The problem once again is that if kids want to do it, they will. It would actually be better to have the gov't controlling its distribution than the underground market because it's easier to get it when it's not monitored. Kids have a rather hard time obtaining alcohol, unless their parents give it to them.
No. They won't. You need to get out of your black and white state of mind.
If kids want to wipe out all other humans on the planet by releasing a wave of nuclear weapons across the glove, they will.
See how dumb that sounds.

Will somebody please
think of the children!
Poor parental responsibility is not a reasonable basis for legislature.
Laihendi did on the last page!
