I've recently started playing a Tauren druid myself, 33 now, and the first thing I've noticed when receiving my Cat form was the void that appears when sitting down.
Now normally that wouldn't bug me much, seeing as how WoW still uses an ancient engine for it's graphics, but this, coupled with the gaping wyvern face and not to mention all other atrocious forms which are -in short- fugly, made me crack.
I've been doing some reading here and there, and found out that not only am I not alone with these thoughts, but a lot of people have been bugging Blizz to make amends and introduce some proper druid forms, at least more aesthetically pleasing.
Of course Blizz ignored everything, putting it on the "Soon™" department of infinity.
Waiting till an Emerald Dream patch comes out to give new forms/skins to druids seems like a pointless endeavor for me, and being stubborn about playing a druid but not wanting to put up with the ugliness, I found a way to circumvent the engine and the EULA alike. A "patch-.MPQ" file with the proper modifications and now my kitty looks like
Har'koa, my bear is a custom white-ish skin with black decals, my travel form is the same, but a white leopard instead, and my swift flight (in future ofc) will be a
Baby Phoenix.
Suffice to say, it's a pleasure to be playing a druid now.
TL;DR
My question to you, wowheaders:
Who else uses custom/modified skins/models for their druid forms? And who's scared enough by the EULA (not that this method infringes on the "do not modify the application's content" part) that they suffer quietly playing a Tauren insect-catcher?
EDIT: as for the nelfs forms, they're all pretty much OK, save the bear wich looks like a wingless mutated bat from hell...
