So i have decided to create a rogue, and i am going to buy him a couple of heirloom weapons. I am going to be specced combat, so i will buy the slow main-hand weapon (

), but i also need a weapon for off-hand. I have always heard that you need a fast weapon for off-hand, so i thought i should get on of the two daggers, but i also have picked up sword specialisation in the combat tree, so i thought that it might make the other sword (

) better.
TL;DR, should i use the heirloom dagger or sword in off-hand for combat leveling purposes?

unfortunatley, weapons for rogue are really limited as for heirloom ietmes.

is really good for a combat MH, but there isn't a good OH...if you want to use the shards one, feel free to take it, its not optimal, but it will do its work.
there is also a dagger, a pair of friends have bought 2 of them planning to lvl as mutilate, but for the levels 1-50 they are really bad.
simply choose what you prefer, lvling is not a metter of gear, its only a matter of speed and right tracks.

Thanks for thr help guys, SMjunkie could you link the sub/combat spec you were talking about? Cause imo itsa also more "rogueish" to use daggers, so it would be cool to have a good dagger spec for leveling, i just thought it wasn't really viable until level 50 and mutilate.

Leveling my rogue, I did 1-50 as Combat though most people don't seem to like my build.

Deflection and Riposte, while bad for DPS, is excellent for leveling. Because we don't have any innate healing abilities, +6% Parry is great for reducing incoming damage. Riposte is a high damage (especially with heirlooms) attack with an attack speed debuff and is really cheap (10e). Relentless Strikes keeps energy coming in.
At 50, you can switch to Mutilate (

). Increased movement speed, bandages heal for more, run IP/IP (big damage). Between Relentless Strikes, Malice, and Puncturing Wounds, you'll have a 60% chance to crit on that first Mutilate before taking agility or base critical strike into effect. A few heirloom items with +15 agility on each dagger and you'll do great.
