Hit points are your health and is increased by stamina.

If you're talking about HP, Toldu his right, that his your health, and when you reach -1, you die and gotta walk back to your body as a spirit to get it back.
If you are talking about the 'Hit' stat, then it's actually affecting your chance to hit an ennemy higher level than you.
And at 19, to get stronger, you can just run instance, grind mobs, or quest, it doesn't really matter, and all methods will get you stronger, just go with the one you prefer.
PS: Try to do some efforts on your typo ; )

At level 19 I doubt he's had any exposure to hit rating. I'm not seeing any typos in the post, either, unless you're counting the lack of a ' in I've. And you die at zero, not -1.
In fact, you do die at -1. I've been down to 0 hp many time (okay, 2-3 times), and could regen, so I assume you're dead at -1... or maybe they fixed that.
He could have been exposed to Hit Rating if he inspected someone weapon or something, was just explaining both just in case.

welcome. As other people said some general tips about wow i will tell you some about pallys.Pallys have been favoured of having the ability to tank, heal and dps.
Dps is the retribution tree(talents).Dps basically means you do damage.More dps is good. Most abilities in this tree will enchance your damage dealing abilities and thus giving you more dps.The problem there is that you are significally more fragile than other trees.
tanking is the protection tree.It allow's you to take less damage and increases your health. It also has abilities that raise your aggro(good thing is you are tank)but you don't do big dps.
healing is holy tree.It does what it says, you heal. You heal large amounts of hp on yourself or your party members.
For retribution tree you need strenght and agility and attack power.Better use 2-handed weapon for this tree
For protection tree you need stamina, def rating(higher lvl),lot's of armor(you will use sword and shield in this tree)and a flavour of agility.
For holy tree stack +healing power, spirit and intellect. You will propably use mace and shield as these are the most common items that you will find that have the stats you need.
-why become dps?You do bigger dps thus letting you kill monster's faster and get to 80 lvl and to real fun faster
-why become tank?If you enjoy leveling you might find easier groups as a tank for instances because leveling as tank is uncommon
-why become healer?Because if you want to go to any instance till 80 level any time you like you will go.It's the least fast leveling specc that is advised if you want to enjoy the content while you level.
If you don't like your specc anytime you want you can change it at your trainer for a small sum of money
Good god is that what our schools are teaching people? Spacebar and Enter. Use them!
