So i am using a build very similar to this at the moment for my new death knight lvl 58 atm. I need a few explantions though. Mostly because I found it on another forum w/o much explantion and while i understood the idea behind most of the skill choices some of them elude me.
Sorry if these questions seem noobish but obviously i am new to the dk.
1. This build is dps right?
2.Why hysteria? I would think we throw this on the tank? Wouldn't the extra loss of life be a little taxing on our healers?
3. Sudden Doom, does it really proc that often as to spec it?
4. Scent of Blood isn't used so I am guessing that we aren't terribly worried about runic power on this build since most of our damage is melee. I find that it procs quite often and gives me lots of rune power to play with which is useful for using skills to kill fleeing enemies.
5. No Mark of Blood or Vendetta? So it looks as if Rune Tap is our "heal".
Hopefully that isn't too much at one time I know the build is built around maximising white strikes and getting crits so most of the choices make sense to me but if you could clear up those questions I would greatly appreciate it.
1. Yes, this is a dps build.
2. Hysteria is really nice for dps(+20% damage on click *drool*), not sure why anyone would put it on a tank... I either use it on myself or the highest physical dps in the raid.
3. Sudden doom is nice because the proc gives a free DC and doesn't use RP or more important, a GCD.
4. Scent of Blood is more of a tanking talent, as a dps you shouldn't be getting hit anyways so it should never proc.
5. Scent of blood is decent, more of a pvp talent though... Vendetta is not worth 3 talents(or any, for pve dps), you shouldn't need heals. Also, rune tap isn't needed since in raid you should be getting hit, and if you do that's what healers are for. :) Your job is dps, that's the priority.
