Spec Prot. Buy some good gear and enchantments. Get to the top of your bracket (so like level 69, whatever) - your allies will hate you if you aren't; you take up valuable team space, and die repeatedly to the bigger boys. Write some good macros. Charge, Concussion Blow, Devastate, Disarm, Shield Slam, Revenge, Rend, Devastate, Shield Slam, til whatever you just charged is dead.
Win, /cheer, go spend your Honour Points :)

Meh, I wouldn't really know anything about 2 handers. Prot can take on most things one on one, except Priests, just not enough interrupts on their heals, bubbles, blasts, whatever. You have such a high degree of survivability in any 1v1 situation, and if you know how to counter the class you are fighting, you can usually come out on top.
Warriors
: Disarm them, keep Devastating, keep trying to get behind them, stun them when you can, get behind, repeat.
Paladins
: Same tactics as Warriors, but pop Spell Reflection every now and then, and time your stuns well to keep them locked down and stop them bubbling. When they bubble, walk away, /laugh, and Charge > Concussion Blow > Disarm them again.
Death Knights
: Like evil Paladins, but they don't bubble like their light side counterparts.
Hunters
: Charge, Disarm, Rend, Devastate, Concussion Blow, they jump away, you charge them again and Shockwave them. Then maul them silly while their pet tickles you.
Mages
: Be careful, have your Every Man For Himself and/or Insignia of the Alliance/Horde ready, don't start with a charge, just attack them, when they blink, free yourself, charge them, stun them, get behind, and hit them really, really, really hard. Be ready to pop a Spell Reflect when you see their cast bar or guess they are firing an insta-cast.
Warlocks
: Roll your face over the keyboard and watch them die. Seriously. Poor guys. Sorry.
Druids
: Hit them hard and fast and hope they don't start healing constantly and their buddies come along. If they go Bear Form /sigh and settle down for a loooooooong fight. Cat Form, Rend them and keep stunning.
Shamans
: Charge and Stun them, while they are stunned, smack a few of their Totems for some extra rage, then start hammering them again. Time a Spell Reflect well and watch them launch themselves off cliffs. Try not to laugh too much. If there are no cliffs handy or they don't use that ability, whatever it's called, hit and hope, they are pretty tough.
Rogues
: Start the fight with a /sigh when they sap you. Then pop Berserker Rage and hope you can hit them before they vanish. If you can GET REND ON THEM RIGHT AWAY! Little feckers can't hide so well when they're peeing blood. Disarm them before they do it to you and then Concussion Blow, Shield Slam, Shockwave, and Revenge them to death. Little b@$*ards.
Priests
: If you can't kill them with your first two or three hits, don't even bother figthing them. I've seen three level 70 geared Warriors chase one level 70 Priest for 5 full minutes until the bugger ran out of mana and stopped healing.
If anyone is still awake after that long boring class analysis, sorry. Anyway, this is all just my personal opinion from BG experience, others may have vastly different or superior tactics. If you do...

Oh it's on! How can you say that!
Now I'm wishing I'd had the foresight to get screenies of some of the battle summaries in the past, but if you want, I'll grab some in the next 2 days...
Example, me, Prot Warrior, AV, pretty fair teams, all the regular faces from our Battlegroup on both sides, Damage Done, 580,000, next nearest player, some Hordie, about 310,000, next nearest Ally, on the failtrain at about 190,000. KB's/ Deaths, usually always in the 4:1 range. If you know how to use a Prot Warrior, you can be the linchpin of a BG, a 1v1 monster, and an immense siege breaker.
Seriously, I'm stung though, what a horribly sweeping statement :/

Prot PvP really isn't that good aside from duels, and beating people in BGs who have never faced a prot warrior before. Otherwise, you're pretty much useless.
You made his point exactly. Go try your prot war in arena, and see how successful you are as you sit there uselessly rage starved as the other team ignores you and you do @#$% for dps. No MS, no CC, no burst potential. good luck.

What the f@*k has arena got to do with anything? He specifically said Prot Warriors are "useless" for PvP. Battlegrounds are a major part of the PvP, and the most accessible for the widest range of players, from level 10 to level 80. Arena is more or less for level 80's, exclusively. If I was level 80, I might talk about my experiences in Arena, be they good or bad, but I'm not, I'm level 70, and talking about Battlegrounds, you #$%^, and in Battlegrounds, a GOOD Prot Warrior can do and amazing amount of work in a variety of situations.
Go learn how to read, understand the underlying point and purpose of a topic, and a little decorum before you come here trying to paint me to be the idiot.

It's okay, no need for apologies, it was the other dude that kinda hacked me off, saying I'd made your earlier point for you, which I felt was an attempt to make me look foolish.
It may be at level 80 that I'm forced to Dual Spec away from Prot to keep enjoying PvP as I do at the moment, but for now, I tend to find that there are plenty enough people, in each of the BG's, who maybe don't know the exact weaknesses of Prot, which allows me to use my spec for some fun.
Again, I'd like to point out, that in ANY BG I have fought, with over two months spent at level 69, I topped the tables for damage done, KB's and usually, things like flag returns, defends, and even caps. The secondary objectives are more team dependent, but with a good healer for example, in WSG, combined with Charge, Int Shout, Shockwave, Shield Block, Shield Wall, Last Stand, and all the other little tricks, I have no trouble running a flag through half a dozen bads, or breaking a siege on that damn Lumber Mill.
It may seem like I'm trying to paint myself as some sort of elite PvPer, but it's simply not the case. I took time and spent money to get geared properly, to learn my class and skills, to write my own macros, and when I'm in a BG, I simply get stuck in - it always amazes me just how many people seem to stand around or run around uselessly. These things combined have allowed me to actually make an impact, and genuinely enjoy PvP, because otherwise, I wouldn't have done it for so long.
Anyway, lets not argue, I appreciate the move toward more constructive criticism, and I also greatly appreciate your information in my other topic about gemming better - I'll be looking into that further when I finish work :)
Thank you.
