1. Pull with AS followed by Exo on the main target, holy sheild as stuff is running towards you then judge the main target, soon as they are packed around you hit HotR (2+) or ShotR (1 mob) then lay down a consecration. If anyone is able to pull threat off you if you pull like that there is something majorly wrong
2. Usually using Hand of Reckoning, single target taunt abilty, if this fails use righteous defence. Failing either of these two (misses/resists/taunt immune mobs), BoP the DPS who puleld aggro off you if you can, if you cant do that for some reason, or the mob is a caster then at least HoSacrifice said dps and hope he has the brains to attempt to drop aggro asap or beat the mob down. The easy alternative to this is to Excorcism and ShotR said mob and he should have no problem remebering who he should be beating on.
3. 969 isn't a must for trash, especially if you are AoE blasting your way through and instance, as you need you AoE TPS skills up asap, just remember to keep holy sheild up out of all the skills in your rotation..
And warn your dps that you've just taken a big break from wow, rusty players who were once good just need a warm up again more often than not, as opposed to the DPS who like to pop wings and trinkets on the first pull to see how much irritation they can cause... (on that note use your wings too :) )
Edit: wow, just read again what you wrote and my 1. has nothing to do with what you wrote... tbh melee dps don't really have much to think about whilst dpsing, you as the tank on the other hand have lots to think about, let them get behind the mobs themsleves, no need to carry the extra weight of easy positioning for melee dps. That being said don't tank the mobs in a place where if the melee dps do stand behind targets that they will pull aggro from other groups or wandering patrols. Positioning is (to an extent) your business

2. How do you handle a single target that has lost threat in a group? Do you use a mouse over taunt macro? Any special addons?
I have holy as my main spec but I've got prot as my second spec, so I just leave healbot up and change holy shock to Righteous defense. One click aoe taunt without changing targets and you should have HoP on there as well.

Just get a few Heroic runs going and you'll be tanking to the max like you were before in no time :)
Oh and the whole thing about pressure, tanking is
the
hardest role in any group (imo). You have to watch omen, nail your rotation on bosses/trash espectivly to ensure you stay top of threat meters, set the pace of the run, keep an eye out for pats, learn every pull of each instance so you don't #$%^ up the pulls, put up with undergeared dps who slow things down considerably - especially as dps can get away with being carried in heroics where tanks effectivly can't, watch out for those dps who like to go 100% all out off the bat w/o giving so much as 2 GCD's to establish threat, make sure you are positioned correctly, the list goes on... its a lot to deal with.
Admittedly most of the above is far truer if you PuG alot, but the same can be said of some guild runs too.

Yes, like the others said, 969 isn't important for trash - by definition, it's usefulness is defined over-the-cycle, not for the short-term. For trash, blow your high-threat cooldowns first, save low-threat stuff like Judgment for later. If you wanted something you can rote-learn, maybe try using 99669 by pushing Consecrate one forward to build up the aggro a bit faster before they're in melee range. Whatever it takes, really.
Threat - use Righteous Defence (or whatever it's called - can't remember) on the party member who's taken aggro, rather than trying to find which particular mob has lost aggro - that way you don't lose focus on the one you're supposed to be hitting.
I generally pull, wait for them to swarm me, then step backwards. Stepping backwards while they're running at you will result in them surrounding you anyway. Agree with the earlier posts - melee can work out their own positioning - just make sure the mobs are still in front of you.
Anyway, by the sounds of it, the dps in your group were cogniscent of your threat, and held themselves back accordingly (except for a few instances). If they don't, don't be afraid to tell them to hold back for a while - remember, if the dps dies, it's usually the dps's fault.
Last night, we had a warrior who was charging in as soon as the DK tank laid the first blow... and usually on an off target. The DK managed to get aggro back pretty quickly in each case, but not before he'd taken a couple of hits, making it harder for the healer to manage. A few pulls later, a few quiet words, and it all started running like clockwork.

1. How do most tanks do your pulls so that mobs don't circle around you, and what do you generally try to do so that melees have an easier time instantly going behind? I usually pull and walk backwards, but there has to be an easier way.
Besides the other answers given. What I do is just pull with AS, run up to them, drop Consecration and continue running past them just enough so I'm behind them. Makes life easier for the melee since getting behind the mob for them just involves running up.

Edit: Though that is not to say that mob pathing will not screw you over once in a while. It really needs to be worked on :s One Naxx run I was tanking Grobbulus and for no particular reason, and with me still targeted, he started walking towards the middle of the room. Taunts didn't bring him back. Ended up getting around 8 slimes from that lovely experience.

969 is a must IF youre having threat issues, as you cannot get any higher than that without loseing survivability, and even that the rotation is still 969.
If youre not having threat issues, you can faceroll.

You used to heal yourself as a tank =O When casting you lose all of your avoidance so that is a baaaad idea, anyways thats what you have healers for... if you really do feel the need to heal between pulls, eating/using Band Aid is generally a better idea (becasue of the inneficiency of healing with a 50% debuff from DP)
