I would. That's the last fun thing I did in WOW, next to ganking & stealing veins in Sholazar Basin. I miss Illidan.US sometimes, :-)

Oh, I must agree now that the AH really is a slow process. You have to go out and make some business of your own, farming and looting creatures or, my favorite: doing dungeons. I always seem to win quite a lot of green items to which I usually disenchant automatically on my disenchanting avatar. Then, I send all the mats to my banker who decides if another character needs any resources, etc. before I sell.
Such a detailed experience could be presented, but ultimately there is "downtime," even to banking.

Problem with the WoW AH is there's no buy side, only sell side. Real markets, like the capital markets, not only offer sellers a place to offer their wares, but buyers a place to post bids on things they want. When bids and asks are close enough, deals are done. When they're not, liquidity dries up and no deals are done.
Having a visible bid-ask spread that fluctuates throughout the day and week as supply and demand ebb and flow would make the WoW AH much more dynamic and interesting. In fact, perhaps that's one reason Bliz doesn't do this - it might turn too many of the players into full-time AH speculators and their hard work on the content would go to waste.
