Is it? Well, I really don't agree with the people who say that anyone can do anything if they just work hard enough. So, what do you all think? Can we all do anything if we put enough time and effort into it, or are we limited by our abilities and environments? (Give your reasons).

I say we're limited. Most definitely. Like, man will never be able to fly without the aid of machines, or some sort of other object that may/may not be created in the future.
(Plus, I'll never be able to pronounce the word BELAVMVJSJFLF
I don't mean defying the laws of physics :S :D.

I don't believe you can achieve anything, but I do believe that people can achieve much more than they believe they can. I know I'm being vague, but considering how many different situations people are in, its better not to try to hardcode values on what people can and can't do, and just acknowledge that the amount people can achieve is variable, but nearly every person isn't close to achieving what he or she could achieve.

Skyfire is a moderator of Wowhead.

Skyfire?
Possibly referring to the thread about AIDS, somewhere in the page range of 9-10+.

I was just kidding because the thread title has the word 'sky' in it. Sorry.

Oh, my fault, stupidity. Anyway, what do you think?

"The sky is the limit" is a 'figure of speech', a 'euphomism'. I don't see what you're asking.

To an extent yes, and to an extent no.
1 + 1 will probably always equal 2. No amount of effort will change that.
However, the limits of humanity are beyond sight.

Well, not really, most of the time 1+1 = 1.5, most people aren't anywhere near their potential.

You should read up on William James' philosophy. Laihendi has done that the past two days in lunch... it will cause you to question if 1+1 really is 2.

I have to disagree, no amount of effort is going to make someone who's voice is very bad into a great singer. Do you get what I mean by the thread now?
