We need more unbiased research by actual scientists and researchers.

I bought a kilo for £3k
I can bag it up into tens and eighths and quarters and sell for about £6k
£3k PROFITZ!
That is why people sell weed.
Also i'm kinda surprised any aussies take drugs at all, from the high prices I heard when i was over there. I'm surprised anyone can afford. i got offered an E for $18 when i can get them for £1 in england.

Research on what? Health / long-term impacts (or lack thereof), or on the effects of legalising?

Bumping with
related legislation
.Is that legit?
If so, go Washington! You always have been my favorite state!
We actually have been planning to move there for a while.
I don't particularly expect it to pass, at least not if similar legislation didn't pass in California, but I'm keeping my hopes up.

I smoked weed once daily and snorted cocaine about once a week for about 3 months when I was 13.
Before I started, I was one of the brightest kids in school, and was in accelerate classes for all but one subject. I had a vocabulary and reading age of an adult. I went through the
Hannibal
novel in a weekend.
I stopped just before I entered High School, and I ended up in the lowest class and struggled to get good grades for 3 years.
Stay off the drugs kids.

Stay off the drugs kids.I got all 90s on my tests, 750s on my reading and writing on the SAT and 600 on the Math, and got into the 97th percentile on the ASVAB.
Goes both ways, kids.

The thing is, we don't have a measure of how bright Skreeran was before he started smoking.

Even if they
do
legalize marijuana, what are they going to do with the thousands of drug dealers, growers and traffickers that are in prison for weed related crimes? Let them all out? I don't think so.

Skree, did you have an anger problem before you started smoking?
Edit: I mean that purely from an academic perspective, because I recall you mentioning that you've got some issues in that respect and medication to deal with it, I think.

If the crime they committed is no longer a crime, then yes. If there's something additional then their sentences would probably be adjusted accordingly.
It is an interesting question, though I'm not sure about it. If someone goes to jail on tax evasion, and that particular tax law is changed, does that mean they get out? Probably not. It was illegal when they did it, so they're punished accordingly for the crime when they did it.

Yes, actually. I've had intermittent anger issues for about as long as I can remember (especially around the time I was 8 or so years old), but most recently was the worst. The cause (of the most recent one, that is) is rather complicated, but the root was when I gave up on religion. My parents had raised me as a fundamentalist, and Christianity was one of the central pillars of my life. After that crumbled beneath me, I fell into a depression, during which I decided that life and the universe had no objective meaning, and that I didn't matter, and I struggled to come to terms with my mortality (I've heard it best described as feeling like I was suddenly diagnosed with terminal cancer; I believed I was going to be immortal, and had to make peace with the fact that I was going to die).
In the middle of my depression, I stopped turning my fear and pain and bitterness inward, and started turning them outward. It enraged me to see people going about their worthless lives without a care. I remember one particular incident in 10th grade when my school had a party with hamburgers and hot dogs and music and everyone was off having fun, while I stood off by myself, staring and hating with everything I had. I wanted everyone to be as hurt and afraid and lonely as I was. I've mentioned this before, but I remember at one point thinking that, if I had the means to kill everything on earth, I would do it. I just wanted it all to be over, and not just for me, but for everyone. The world is intrinsically corrupt and flawed and painful, and it made me furious that I was the only one that could see it.
Well, it's taken me a lot of time and thought, but I've only recently (relatively speaking, it's been about 6 months) started climbing out of that hole. Been reading a lot of Dawkins and Hawking, taking solace in the natural beauty of the universe.
But as far as my caustic personality, that's just one of my features I suppose. Please don't take offense to my sarcasm, that's just part of who I am.
But yeah, I don't think smoking has had any influence on my overall disposition, nor on my intellect. If you plotted my anger against time during the time I smoked, I think it actually would have gone down, but I don't attribute that to the herb, but to my own introspection.
