Laihendi doesn't see anything wrong with such sports, but to be honest he thinks that with all the budget cuts public schools are getting, sports programs should be cut before art programs (including music). Unfortunately most people don't appreciate art so from what Laihendi sees, sports is placed at a higher priority on the budget :-/
Laihendi has a point here. American kids are in shape. We need less kids exercising.
You actually think PE helps them in any way to get thinner?
Not saying it isn't important, it is.
But, come on 50 minutes a week of exercise that only makes the fat kids more depressed(thus leading to more consumption) isn't really the way to make America thinner.

If your PE only offers 50 min/week, there's something wrong with your system.

Actually it's 100 minutes a week, but when I studied in the states it wasn't that.
Even though, 100 minutes still isn't enough to make America thinner.
Look above for reason.

4 serious?
Back when I had PE it was 5 hrs a week.
100 min is weak.

Go back to the article I linked, 30 min a day is minimum to effectively reduce obesity. Obviously something is not right.
30 min x 5 days/week = 2.5 hrs/week + changing time for gym cloths = 10 min/day = 3 hrs 20 min / week educational time dedicated to PE to be effective.
I had 1 hr 10 min classes, 10 min for changing and 1 hr a day for PE, 5hr exercise, 5hr 50 min of class time.

Your logic is impeccible.

Possibly the funniest exchange today.

It's almost like you argue with Laihendi simply for the sake of arguing. He never said sports and athletics are unimportant, in fact Laihendi thinks they are quite important. However, he also believes that having a cultured and educated society is more important, and that it's a lot easier to participate in team sports outside of school than it is for... taking an art course or playing in an orchestra.
Maybe you just don't understand how strained budgets are for schools right now. Many school boards are
severely
cutting back on art and music classes (mainly in elementary school).

/agree Laihendi (except the argueing to argue thing)

There is more to music than Rock and Pop
Yeah, but they're the most common
I listen to Reggae, Pop, R n B, hip hop, rap, some rock(like avril lavigne) and dancehall
All of those genres fit into Rihanna's music, teehee
Rock does not fit into Rihanna's music.
That's not an opinion.
It's fact.
Yes it does, she has rock in her genre

This thread is not a Rihanna discussion. Take it elsewhere.
